He still seems to have a soft spot for the club attending the odd game etc would be an excellent signing he's got good potential

I'd be happy with McCallum back, got more experience at this level now and a solid player, knows the players and staff so would fit right in

Have Norwich paid his fee in full? Perhaps there are add on liabilities to us? If he is sold on we get a percentage anyway?

Maybe a sell back negates those liabilities.

Might be something in it I suppose.

McCallum is a strange one for me; always thought he was good, and undoubtedly had/has potential, but had a few gaps - most noticeably offensively - so I was confidrmt we’d find a suitable replacement. For whatever reason we haven’t, yet.

So I would have him back as we know what he offers, plus he has another years experience, and perhaps the grass isn’t always greener re replacements!

He’s played one League Cup game in 2020 for Norwich, what add ons were you thinking?!

Agree completely. Was frustrating in the final third but defensively was very decent and personally thought he was better than Maatsen (certainly at this stage in his career).

If he actually plays for them. Milestone add ons. Who knows what the contract says?Might be appearances for other clubs on loan.
No doubt a sell on fee like Maddison.

I’m guessing, with some logic, a similar transfer contract to Maddison.

Boro have ditched Lumley (their keeper from last year). With the rumours about Moore being off and the previous link with Wilder could they be in for him?

Not caught up with this thread for a few days; just read through I don’t know how many pages and I know no more than when I started.

I know we’re all impatient but let’s wait and see how things transpire over the next few weeks before we start any doom and gloom.

I’ve said it a few times before but if one of the big three do need to go, then it has to be Hamer for me.
I think they will get offers for all three of them over the next few weeks , the club have no control over this . I think they are expecting one to go and probably prefer Hamer but if the offers are big enough it could make it interesting

Do you know if Norwich have payed the McCallum fee in full, perhaps we could pull a deal where they dont have to pay any more of the fee and we give them a small chunk of money

I liked McCallum good lad can play wb, fb & left side cb. Been strange he hasn’t got into Norwich or QPR more regularly. Bidwell is similar too so I reckon the two between could be decent.
Think he played for QPR when fit, but missed a chunk of the season injured.

I'd be very happy if we got him back. One of our best players in the first season in Championship and a much better player than JCS and Maatsen in my view.

Would be delighted with McCallum back. That would be LWB sorted for a decade.

Need a left footed CB to help him out more than Hyam did last season though.
I think the reason we saw him sit back more and looked more reluctant to go forward was because of the imbalance and having Hyam behind him so he looked to keep it more defensively sound rather than attack, where as Maatsen had JCS behind him who without a doubt looked more comfortable as he was left footed

I think if we resigned him and confirm Palmer I would be very confident for the season ahead already as it would bring me higher optimism the signings to follow

If they have decided he's not for them, and they still owe an installment, it might be a good deal for both club's if they gave him back and we waived the outstanding payments. Especially if we would have to spend more on someone else than they owe us.
