Boro have ditched Lumley (their keeper from last year). With the rumours about Moore being off and the previous link with Wilder could they be in for him?

Very strange they have loaned him out to Reading, they must be signing a top keeper as replacement. I don’t see Moore as being the keeper they would be after to be honest.

From mccallum’s perspective I hope it isn’t a loan - as making a move from cov in january 2020 to a pl club and to still be on loan at cov 2 and a half years later is not exactly progression

I liked McCallum good lad can play wb, fb & left side cb. Been strange he hasn’t got into Norwich or QPR more regularly. Bidwell is similar too so I reckon the two between could be decent.

He was a regular at QPR. Was playing really well, then picked up an injury (watched that game) that finished his season (or most of it?) iirc.

Edit: suspect his wages will have gone up quite a lot, too !

Don’t know how reliable it is but report in Turkey saying Besiktas enquired about Gyokeres and were quoted €10m (about £8.5m). The ex Barnsley and WBA manager Ismael is in charge there

I'm actually of the belief the only real way the club progresses is to sell for big fees and reinvest wisely. But there aren't many decent strikers around at this our level. If we sold it would have to be for an overinflated price. Even if Robins got every penny £8m probably wouldn't go too far in finding a replacement.

So would we be happy with this if we can get rid of Dacosta, Walker and Waghorn.

Moore/Wilson
Dabo/Kane
McCallum/Bidwell
Hyam/Rose
Fadz
LCB
Hamer/Eccles
Sheaf/Kelly
O’Hare/Palmer/Allen
Györkeres/Godden/Plange

Out: Waghorn, Walker, JCS, Maatsen, Shipley, Dacosta, Jones, Pask, Drysdale

Back five looks very League One

To be honest I wouldn’t be happy with that squad, I’d hate for us to do a Barnsley where they had a good season and expected to kick on but ended up in a relegation scrap

Would be surprised if that team finished higher than we did this year.

Makes selling Hamer and replacing with 3 more bodies appealing.

I think McCallum has the makings of a decent LCB and would also be able to play his usual role if needed. He is strong in the air and comfortable on the ball. If we could then get Cochrane or the likes as a quick wing back I would be pleased.
