I wish we were looking at 5, those being ST, AM, LWB and 2xCB

That's without losing any of our good players too.

If we end the window having sold Hamer and only bought in Palmer and a loan up front and one at the back that'll be a disappointing summer, especially if we don't replace Hamer as well.

That Man City lad going elsewhere is our own fault for chasing JCS which always looked unlikely.

I doubt he was best pleased either knowing he was second choice.

But he wasn't, he's a rcb and JCS is a lcb so different position and wouldn't have affected each other

It will be interesting to see if a) we try to bring in a few trialists to pad the squad out during pre season like we did last year; and b) if any potential trialist will be wary of us squad padding!

Didn't The Sun sack him off?

He posts on Patreon now and blocks people who dare to tweet screenshots of his posts.
No. Still has his column in the Sun. Everyone will slate the Sun but they are excellent for sport. Imagine they pay hefty retainers to a number of agents to leak stories. Suits all parties.

He must have been looked at for the middle of the three then unless one of Hyam or Rose is destined for there.

I hope the plan isn't to have one of those two at LCB again.

We will need a middle centre back as Mcfazdean has publicly dissented It’s safe to say he’s going to be out the circle of trust

Don’t think our “big 3” are going to attract the massive fees some think if the best clubs linked are Fulham…

Not so sure, they have paid out some silly money in the past!

Seems to be a lot of money being pumped into the transfer market already at the top end and this will filter down. A lot of big transfers tend to happen in non tournament summers. Puts us in a good position. We should get good fees for Hamer and Gyökeres.

Maybe when they look at Hamer, Shsaf, O'Hare and Gyokeres, but then again would they not be worried that he might be another Hillsner, Dacosta, Kastaneer or Jobello? Or Wagehorn?
Don't think it would work with individual players. Pure speculation, but it is how I worked in a different industry. Imagine you are an agent or a member of a recruitment team. You look at stats, individual players and assess their worth. Also you look at your competitors and see who is punching above their weight and the reasons why that is. You look at Coventry who have a bottom four budget but may have made the playoffs with a bit more luck and less injuries. You look at recruitment overall and think they are doing well in general and clearly better than most. Agents sell their players by saying something along the lines " Coventry are desperate to sign him so must be good". Recruiters think along the same lines. Coventry have a record for finding great talent lets do our due diligence on this player and see if they are right. Regarding the players from overseas etc, you are right we have not done so well...Jobello was bought for league 1 and got injured badly, both Hillsner and Kastaneer were awesome youth players. Hillsner played for his country, Germany when he was younger. MR said technically he was very good but his fitness problems have scuppered him. Waghorn is experienced and physical and injury ruined his season. May come good or move on. Worried he has not had an op for his shoulder. DaCosta looks a beast but you cant win them all. I am concerned we will become victims of our own success and richer clubs will beat us to the better players available. That said, we must surely be following the Valencia model of brilliant football and a list of players for each position where you miss out on one and move on to the next in line. Think it was Valencia who developed that really obvious method.
