That’s interesting, would these pre season tours be booked a year or two in advance or are they that committed to growing the ‘brand’ they don’t care who’s out there?

@Skyblueweeman might know a little more

EPL teams pre-season tours can be booked a year or two in advance but this is rare. They tend to be tied into sponsorship deals so if one of your main sponsors is a Thai company for example, you'll likely head out to Thailand as part of your preseason.

For the majority of clubs - all EFL and some EPL, clubs only start looking around Dec time for the following summer. I know I was speaking Cov about Spain in January and not everything had been sorted then.

Clubs want to get a feel of how they're doing in the league. If it's looking like a good season, they might consider a trip abroad or if they're having a stinker and looking at a relegation battle then they'll shelve such plans and do a UK based preseason.

There are exceptions to the above to be fair but that's my experience with all the teams I've worked with.

Odds on a signing by Monday? I will say a better chance of me becoming Gal Gadot's love slave...but we shall see.

Adaramola is on the bench for Palace against Liverpool today. Could get a good look at our potential new LWB against some decent opposition in the 2nd half.

They are fast becoming one of my most hated clubs... Epitomise culture of tinpot clubs making it to the Prem and being financially set forever because of it despite their ridiculous debts!

And they had the audacity to sack the man who made it all possible!

They're not really a tinpot club to be fair to them, they've won more than we have and spent a longer time in the top flight than we have too. They also got to the prem in a relatively debt free position, it's only come about since the new owners came in who used the club's own money to buy the club.

It's a fair point - in most of our lifetimes they have been pretty low key but I suppose they are a decent sized club overall... Its probably the likes of Bournemouth and watford who fall into the tinpot category.

It's been done to death I know but the parachute payment system is just an absolute farce and just one symptom of how bloated the prem is.

The more I think about the parachute payments I am amazed the big clubs who are never going to need them haven’t pushed against them.

Oh I never liked them. I am a snob when it comes to teams I believe should be in top flight lol
