I agree. Burnley can’t be very appealing to a player, unless it’s about the moolah !!

It’s totally different up here to be fair. I live 10 miles from Turf Moor (ordinarily in most parts of the country that’d be my nearest league ground) but when I moved in there were 5 closer grounds! And that doesn’t include Bolton Man U, Man C, Salford, Wigan, Preston, Stockport, Huddersfield, Oldham, all within 20 miles. Huge competition!

Harry Kane might talk like he chases parked cars but he’s 6ft2 but no one can argue that he scores goals and is good in the air.

Where you all going with this?

Having a choice of back-up strikers that includes one that can take a leak without standing on a stool is plain common sense.

Burnley strangely draw a decent bit of support from traditional West Yorkshire: Todmorden for example

I’m not disputing Mortimer’s qualities. If I was picking my all time City X1 he would be in it. I also think he became an even better player at Villa.
I just disagree that he was better than Hutch. He was and still is the best City player I have seen. When he got on the ball you just knew that something exciting could happen.
Hutch would also call himself a midfield player rather than a winger.
Wasn’t Mortimer ‘Doris’ rather than Gladys? Alliteration on Dennis I think. Just goes to show that some of our fans even in the 70s didn’t know what they were on about (the girl nickname coming because they thought he avoided a tackle).

Not sure I totally agree that Hutch was that good. It was noticeable in later years that he rarely took anyone on down the line but hogged the touchline and pinged crosses somewhat hopefully into the box. Clearly he'd lost that extra yard or two of pace.

Perhaps we are waiting to see if any other option comes available rather than just completing the loan now, if we get the chance of McCallum or another LWB that has played mens football to a good level on loan, I can very much see us choosing to opt for them. And usually more players become available for loan later in the window when clubs have finished their buying and squad building.

Going back over 40 years in time and yes the memory can play tricks on you.
Hutchison was worth watching even on his off days, he had you on the edge of your seat.

Wow, really? If anything we released him 2 years sooner than we should have. His extra experience and nous would have been invaluable in the 2nd leg League Cup semi at West Ham, and would have probably helped see us through to our first Wembley final in 1981, and boy did he deserve to play for us in such a game. He carried on playing pro football into his 40's for good reason, and anyone who saw him turn out in Micky Gynn's testimonial when i think he was aged about 55 will vouch that he still had a bit about him even then.

Adaramola has good reviews from Palace fans who’ve seen him in the youth teams, interesting it’s being reported that we put the best case forward, with what Bidwell supposed to be our first choice.

Hope part of that and the other lads we’ve signed isn’t guaranteed game time.

Tyler walker stay or go, I think stay, redemption season and he will score goals, but we cant sing him the same song as Jamie Allen, what about Walker’s on fire?

Maybe I wasn't that enamoured, we all have our different fave players, that's what makes the world go round innit.
