We can see in our own fall and rise how harmful booing is to players' performances.

We used to have a load of people turn up, slag players off, boo and groan all game. It made players play within themselves, didn't make for an intimidating atmosphere for the opposition and stayed that way while we slipped down the leagues.

When we bottomed out and there was only a hardcore there in L2 or St Andrews it got to a point where people decided to get behind the team. When people returned they were caught up in the positive atmosphere. When we're eventually back in Cov and in the Championship we had a big positive crowd backing the players and not making it a nice easy place to visit. Everybody was in agreement that a lot of the late goals were helped by crowd support last season. I think we wouldn't see that if the players were shit scared of half the crowd abusing them at any opportunity,

Some players will rise to the critics and prove them wrong, or try to improve themselves, others will buckle under the pressure and hide away. Which do you want?

If I underperformed at work I know I'd be told in no uncertain terms, and if I didn't improve I'd be "managed" out of the business, not paid till the end of my contract like a molycodled footballer.

Do you think it's a coincidence that the team has performed so much better under a manager who experienced life under Sir Alex Ferguson?

Success is available to those who fight for it, anyone who buckles under a bit of harmless booing isn't worthy of it.
If your happy with second tier mediocrity then carry on, but that's all you'll get.
Worse take.

1. Booing is such small dick energy, like what the fuck are you - 7 years old at a pantomime?

2. Players are managed out of clubs all the time, think ‘bomb squad’ era - did that benefit anyone?

3. Ferguson famously protected players in public, keeping everything in-house. I’m not sure I remember the success being a result of booing, in fact the exact opposite. Towards the end of games in Fergie time Old Trafford was famously positive with that horrendous chanting of ‘Attack’ over and over.

4. Small dick energy

Can see it. Would need to be signed by 12. I suspect the last two are Patterson and a CB and don’t think either will be done until closer to the deadline. Patterson because there’s other clubs interested and the CB because we won’t find anyone then get desperate towards the end of the window.

Not really any investment by King though is there.

Man City Left back in to replace the Palace flop we had in for about a week at the start of the season
Kane Wages put into Norton Cuffey
Hyam's wages put into a CB

I'd be looking for more investment really.

The summer is huge with all our players out of Contract, and our 'big players' coming to the end of their deals. Turnover in the squad will be one of the biggest i have seen i imagine. The recruitment alone will impact how we fair next season

Don't think anything will happen today as we have half a new back line to bed in. Having two new players start is a risk, as was said possibly things will happen week after next.

Is there any particular reason it's 12 on Friday for registration? Seems like something they've randomly decided
Think it’s been that for ages, even before the prem/championship set up we have now. Going back in the JH years he signed Bill Glazier on the morning of our away game at Pompey which I was at in those days it was something like an hour before the game so he could and did play, we all wondered who this bloke who ran out behind captain George Curtis was. “Good old Bill” as he became known had a blinder & we won 2-0.
