Unfortunately for cal our best work at this level came without him , Robins knows this

Think that's a bit of a cheap shot. He's a bubbly character which is one of the reasons we all took to him in the first place. Nobody berated him as being too big for his boots for the Sky Blue wig and the 'pump it up' stuff. Just shows his outgoing personality. I wish him nothing but well, whether stays or goes.

That’s the thing isn’t it? Confidence becomes arrogance when action doesn’t meet rhetoric. If I were him I’d be humble and be glad im in a team where I’m getting on the pitch when I probably shouldn’t, and realise another year (if I can earn it) is probably a good idea.

Mostly though I don’t like players who leave on frees. Fuck em. Should have known though.

People may disagree but I don’t think a prime COH is good enough for the PL at all.
I agree. Even before the injuries he wasn't Premier League quality. I really like him but he was nowhere near Hamer and Gyokeres' level.

He did, passed it straight to their man on the edge of our area ! Seriously though, he did look well off it but then there was a couple of bits of real quality nearer the end. He just needs minutes but hard to get them in the current system especially when we need results
He just looks unfit and lacking in mental and physical sharpness, he did get better like you say. I do wonder if he's bulked up too much.

Doing a comparison:

Gyo ‘I’m leaving if we don’t go up, this is where I want to go so accept it’

Hamer ‘Hmmm, well, hmmm, maybe, hmmm, ah Sheff Utd in mid August? Why not?’

COH ‘Hmmm, I’ll leave how I arrived’

I think it’s more that he’s been off for so long, not really contributed much last season, had top quality coaching and rehab from us and then to leave without giving anything back just seems a bit poor tbh. At least we got serious cash for Hamer and Gyokeres and they contributed massively to us getting in the play-offs. I also get the feeling with Callum that he thinks he’s a lot better than he is, don’t get me wrong he’s been great for us in the past but it would be a poor showing if he left as a free, giving us nothing in return.

He owes us nothing and has been great value. He has always worked hard and contributed a lot. He's entitled to leave at the end if his contract. Let's face it there is little loyalty either way in football. If the injury had been career ending we wouldn't have given him another contract.

We've no evidence that cal can play as an inside forward or wide man

Well we won’t until we try it, but it’s the only place I can see him fitting. He’s not a CM.

Maybe chuck him on in a ten role in that weird forward diamond formation if we’re chasing the game.

We should get diallo on loan after his injury

Yeah I suppose so, it does work both ways but I just find it a bit annoying he’s willing to leave for free when he knows he’s currently loved at the club and he knows how much time and effort has gone into getting his career back on track. Doubt we’d get much for him anyway though as he so far doesn’t look like the Callum of old and with a serious injury it’s bound to put a lot of potential buyers off.

I know he's not anywhere near fit yet, but in his brief cameos he seems to lost a yard of pace to me. Not all players return from ACLs as they were before.
I don't think O'Hare has made any kind of decision yet (despite most saying he's off). Surely the club's offer to him will be improved once he proves his fitness, so it could be that both parties are biding their time.

Regarding the comments that COH doesn’t fit the system. It wasn’t long ago that some were criticising MR for not having a plan B . Potentially, we now can adjust to a back 3 with wing backs etc , if our current system isn’t working against certain teams.

Or simply adjust to 4231. There’s still a place for him from a squad perspective, just don’t see that he gets in the starting lineup at present.

If at all possible yes. He really is too good for this division but United might want him to have a half season in the Championship to regain fitness.

I'm sure he'll improve but based on last night if he runs down his contract you can only see teams like Stoke or Norwich going in for him.

Probably not going to start looking back to himself until he gets 10 starts in a row - something I doubt we'll give him unless he extends.

Where ? Certainly not as a central midfielder

We play a holding and 2 CMs
At his peak, he easily gets ahead of Allen in the same role Allen played last night, maybe it's not your typical number 10 but he has the work rate and tenacity to play the role when he was at his best.

The midfield three can also be tweaked, if it means it has to be 2 sitting midfielders with one ahead to accommodate O'Hare then it will happen if he can prove himself worthy of a starting spot.

If he gets close to his previous form Robins isn't just going to bin him off because we played one holding and two CMs for the last 3 and a half matches.

Wouldn't mind seeing O'Hare in the 8/10 role Allen is currently in - like Maddison for Spurs this season.

Could be wrong but I doubt Robins is looking at the 10s as competing for the 3 in midfield unless we're chasing a game.

When we played 4-3-3 in League 1 O'Hare was used as part of the front 3.

Robins is closer to Southgate than Ange in his philosophy.

Thinks he’s a lot better than he is? Based on what?
