Good to see a candidate for this year’s “stating the obvious” prize in there nice and early

Based on previous events this is not nailed on. Good to see you making such a positive contribution

Do you think they are sitting there thinking “let’s wait until as late as possible this year just for fun”?

I see Kasper Schmeichel is available for a loan, would be an upgrade over Collins and Wilson.

Do you think that they concluded business quickly in the last window ?

Yes, most of the new signings were in by early August with a month still to go in the window.
But I’ll ask again, do you think they don’t want to sign players early and would rather wait until the last minute? I think you’ll find the real transfer market is slightly more complicated than playing on Football Manager.

My point was and you full well know it that it would be good to get business finished early than than some of the transfer activity that was concluded late in the last window. You admit yourself that there waa late activity which somewhat negates your point. Additionally I think that you'll find in the real world that I've never played football manager which you obviously have considerable experience of with the knowledge that it is uncomplicated.

My point was that you were stating the bleeding obvious. Sharp incisive thinking like that is just what we need

The inference in my point was that the late activity of the last window should be avoided. As a consequence new signings were not starting the initial games of the season. A pity that you feel the need to resort to pathetic sarcasm but fine if that makes you happy.

Lati, Thomas, Dasilva, Collins, Simms, Sakamoto, Binks, Milan & Haji were all there before the start of the season.
Only Kitching (deadline day)and to a lesser extent Ayari (2 weeks before close of window) could be considered late signings. So please tell me what all this imaginary late activity was?

I doubt whether there was any club in the championship that did less business than us in the last month of the window.

Hamer departing late on - that should have been resolved way earlier although we will never know why that was. MVE didn't start the first game either, Ayari , Kitching and Binks. That's a good few to be going on with.

"I doubt whether there was any club in the championship that did less business than us in the last month of the window."
So we did more late on than anybody else then ?

Has to be a centre mid incoming surely…

Sheaf making a class tackle and then having an aneurysm when getting into the final third was exactly the type of thing we need to sort. This isn’t knocking him, he’s great, he can’t help who he is!

Sheafs got to be the man that hangs back and we have to bring in someone with a bit more confidence and swagger to do stuff in the final third. They also have to be willing to get stuck in defensively, a difficult player to find…

Ok, you’re losing the argument so you want to move the goalposts. We were discussing late activity in the transfer window which you’ve not been able to back up, so now you’re talking about who started which games?

And sorry my last comment was too difficult for you; if I reverse it and say “most clubs did more business than us in the last month” does that make it any easier for you to understand? We did very little incoming business after the season started.

With few loans we’ve now got to the happy place where we are strengthening and adding depth rather than looking for big gap fillers. Central midfield would be an obvious place to add to what we have. I don’t think we need to necessarily do anything else. Just pick up opportunities if they present themselves. The scouting team obviously have good eyes for detail.
