He’s on a long term contract, Plymouth hold all of the cards and can demand whatever they want within reason

I still can't see a deal being 5 million though even with add ons

Add ons, only if he scores plenty of goals and help's us get promoted to the premier league.

Tbh would be a heck of a signing. I know that sounds stupid when we're talking about a mid 20s striker from league 2 but Langstaff is a heck of a striker at that level and hit the ground running. He scores with either foot, good in the air, bangs then in from out of the area too so not just a fox in the box type.

He'll need chances created for him, he won't do it all on his own and he's not lightning. He is a godden style striker but his trajectory is upwards and if, and I must stress I don't believe the random rumours so it's a huge if, but if we're close to getting him I'd rather us than someone else. If not us, someone will poach him from our league.

Oh I've also got multiple bets on him to be topscorer in league 2 which he currently is so I'd be pissed off too

Let's not go through the ridiculous theatre of moaning every time another club makes a half decent signing that we 'should have been in for' like we can sign everyone going.
For once I'm pretty positive we're going to make some decent Jan signings so let's see who we bring in.

The very same clowns on here crying until a few weeks ago about how terrible our signings were and how great Stoke and Birmingham's were.

If the rumour is true it would suggest to me Godden is all but gone this window.

Langstaff looks good. Similar signing to Jamie Vardy at Leicester when they went up previously.

I think Langstaff is worth a punt. With Godden on the way out and Taveres going out on loan, that only leaves Simms up top

A good friend of mine is a Notts season ticket holder. He laughed when I asked if this page was credible. He said there is someone on their YouTube channel who is normally well informed said any hint of a £2m bid is bollocks. He says Notts would be delighted with anything above £1m for Longstaff. As an aside he says Jones is absolutely flying for them.

They rejected over 1 million in the summer

And why is everyone assuming Godden will move, if he does we need another striker, we need a fourth one now.
There are clubs interested, he could easily do the job in league one, won't want to play 3rd fiddle. Not assuming anything just wondering the conditions of a deal as one could happen looking at all the cards on the board.

Also , city sold mcnulty for 1.2 million after scoring 23 goals in league 2 several years ago .. langstaff is on 19 already

2 mill seems definitely a likely figure
Has any club at League 2 level ever sold a striker for more than we sold McNulty for?... Which proved to be a terrible deal for Reading. Genuinely don't know the answer to this. Hard to gage what the market value for the League 2 top goalscorer at 26 would be.
