A move for the Barnsley keeper is interesting. Suggest we might want to move Moore off the wage bill and get someone a bit younger to push Wilson for competition.

I’m happy keeping Godden for one more season or we let him for for a swap deal somewhere.

Imagine its exactly that. He has a lot of experience already and that Chelsea connection makes it beleivable too

Godden link to Derby is an interesting one and I can see why they would want him for a promotion push. Depending on who else we get in the forward line his appearances could be limited along with his usual injury niggles.

Predicted this a few months back.

A move to a big club in League 1 would be great for him. I reckon he'd get someone like Derby promoted. Think we'd get a reasonable fee too. Maybe £1m?

Yeah not really a signing that excites losing his place in a team a league below. Ideally I want a keeper better than Wilson not worse

Dutch news linking us to Dylan Vente from Roda.
The dangerous attacker of the Limburg Keuken Divisie club, who still has an ongoing contract in Kerkrade but can look out for another club so that Roda can get a transfer fee for him, will fly to England on Sunday, according to insiders, to talk with an interested Englishman. club.

In the corridors, the names of clubs such as Swansea City and Coventry City, both of which play at the second level – the Championship – are mentioned. But which party exactly wants to bring in the talented striker, who received his education at Feyenoord and eventually also made it to the first team there, has been kept scrupulously secret to this day

Godden is the best finisher we have at the club

Injuries and the emergence of Gykores over the past 2 seasons have held him back.

I wouldn’t mind keeping him but only as 3rd /4th choice
He’s a great backup/rotational option who has brought a lot to the club and been instrumental to our success over the last few seasons.

We would absolutely not get anywhere near £1m for him. £400k max

For a player pretty much guaranteed to get 15+ goals in League 1 would command over £500k. Surely? He's only 31 and has score a fair amount of goals in the Championship in the past 2 years.

His injury will drive a significant spike into his price

They usually end up being shite but signing players no-one has heard of from abroad is simply 10x more exciting than signing from England
Tbf it's not something we've tried that much. You can write off the freebies we got in league 1 for sure they were all terrible but other than Hamer not a lot going. Even going back years before Robins I only really remember Mifsud since the prem relegation and he was great (at least for a bit.) Always frustrated me we didn't try it more.

That Vente looks class

I know Dutch second division like but isnt that where we got Hamer from?

Love Godden but if we can shift him and use the money for Vente not costing the club any extra then id do it

Simms Yates Vente would be goals

Hamer was in top division when we signed him. they got relegated shortly after he left.

If you're going to have a 4th choice striker I think Sharp is the perfect kind of player.

Free transfer, won't be crazy wages, experienced head for the younger players in the team, been promoted out of this league 3 times, will provide an impact as a substitute, won't be unhappy with a low amount of minutes.
