Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but was there any trouble after the game yesterday ? As we were walking out things were being hurled between both fans (including a seat) and it looked like it might turn nasty.

I actually felt the Reading fans next to us were pretty decent and led to a decent atmosphere

Leads me to think of the huge gap between home and away fans at the CBS - would it be that much bother having home and away fans closer ? Surely it can be done if managed properly.

It happens at every other ground. You often see games where there's no gap at all just a line of stewards. Of course while there's trouble week after week there's not much incentive to allow a change.

There's been a significant rise in trouble around the country. Needs to be stamped out quickly.

Not sure KCM that 'fans' throwing seats and 'other things' at each other is the best argument I've heard for having the away fans closer.

But I do see what you are saying.

Back to lobbing things. Anyone trying to kick off with families and kids around - total cowardly twats. The same twats who would run a mile before getting in a ring and going toe to toe - but jump up and down acting like Cov's hardest when hiding amongst fans who aren't there for any trouble or protected by police lines.

There appeared to be a lot of trouble at FT between the fans. It went on for a long while after the full time whistle. Certainly wouldn’t say yesterday was a good case for making the gap smaller. Saw a video online of city fans and reading fans clashing in the concourse too. Seemed to be a larger amount of nobs around yesterday. Bunch of cretins trying to smash a tv above the bar area.

To our left it looked like there was a handful of city fans in the home end. Didn’t look like they were being particularly disrespectful and remained calm but one or two Reading fans were going ballistic about it. I know plenty of our home fans would too, but always blows my mind that two adults who are from different areas/support different teams can’t contain their aggression at another supporter. If they were goading them or being OTT fair enough, and it might have been the case, but really didn’t look that way from across the segregated area.

Just to amend my original point - agree the throwing of objects doesn’t make an argument to get fans closer. My point was more in terms of general atmosphere (without the bellends)

Coventry fans are a different breed (not in a good way) to reading fans , it would be catastrophic having home fans close to away fans at the cbs considering they can't manage when they are big blocks apart

There was a bit of trouble at half time - their lot were throwing beer over onto the Cov part of the concourse and kicking the metal fence separating the home end from the away end. Then a City fan kicked a door open between the two ends, and the one Reading fan who attempted to actually use it got swiftly punched in the face. Bit of a scrum to close it again. All very silly and avoidable.

There were also smoke bombs thrown into the Reading fans from our side, (I've a feeling our fans hit by a smoke bomb might have been one of ours getting returned!).

In general, from what I saw, it was all just verbal and not intimidating I the slightest though others may have had a different experience.

I am not convinced by this logic. I think the big gaps lead to some fans to get far too brave and it gives them an area to move into. It's much harder and takes much more sizeable bollocks to try and jump into a group of fans rather than empty space. When the odd person does this due to weight of numbers they normally regret it. We could have a line of police and stewards between the two sets taking up 3 rows of seats maximum.

It won't happen as it feels like it makes no logical sense, but it is quite apparent most inside the stadium disorder doesn't take place in full grounds.

Besides the throwing, which is poor form, there wasn't any trouble outside. Fans mingled through.

Simple fact is, the majority of this lads who pretend to want a fight, don't actually want to.

Therefore, mixing after the game leads to very little trouble.

Unlike at the Ricoh where they cage fans in. Cause tension and frustrate fans trying to walk back to their mode of transport.

Considering there was near to no segregation, no one broke through or ran into the opposition stand.

Get sniffer dogs in at all grounds to deter this seemingly rising trend of cocaine use at football grounds and start banning anyone provoking or behaving with violence.

Cocaine has always been a problem at football as far as I cam remember, particularly at away games

I thought that pretty much the same thing was going to happen to me in the first half. Some absolute warrior was stood on the steps next to our row (i was right by the home fans) droning on and on about how he was going over the fence to 'get a bit' and stewards couldn't stop him. Apparently this display of ultimate hardness could only happen if we scored and fortunately they'd fucked off after about half an hour. I wouldnt have enjoyed listening to this drilldo at the best of times but i had my 5 year old son with me and was fully expecting to get trampled at some point. Every other word was 'fuck' or 'c**t' as well.

We need another piece of segregation where the 'Dickhead Stand' can be set aside for all the knuckledraggers to get it on with each other and leave us in peace.

It’s not just away from home either this season. We’re in block 21 and a few games ago two fully grown men almost came to blows over one of them vaping in the stand.

Screaming and shouting over a couple of rows of people, f this c*nt that and then the inevitable squaring up to each other.

One had three kids with him under 12 who I felt for and my 11 year old got scared so we had to move seats for the rest of the game.

Also some teenagers behind us brazenly smoking weed during the Derby cup game. Less of an issue but still.

Gonna see about going in the lounges next season.
