There must be a load of people who missed our first two goals yesterday.

I like a drink as much as the next person, but there's plenty of time before and after the game.

It’s absolute rubbish in the stadium anyway. What’s the point in paying all that money for travel and ticket to miss it for an overpriced flat beer on a rammed concourse? Has anyone ever had a good pint in a plastic cup out of interest?!

Sure. Don’t think that I’m saying the conduct discussed on this thread is acceptable because it’s not. Trampling on kids, shouting fuck and c**t on repeat and throwing missiles - I hope the scrotes get what’s coming for them and they’re ragged out of the stadium by their ears. The best way is to keep challenging it.

There’s a picture of 4 blokes on social media covered in the blue smoke from a flare. Some find it funny but it’s not funny when you find out someone threw it at the Reading fans and it was thrown back hitting an elderly gent and the smoke spraying onto the 4 next to him.

I saw some people with what I thought was crap face paint after the game.

If that was indeed residue from a flare, that's awful.

Some on FB thought it was funny to laugh at them but when you consider the flare hit someone innocently watching the game first before smoke residue going on to the others minding their own business, it goes beyond a laughing matter.

Ignoring the alcohol & drugs issues I've never understood this. A game is a couple of hours, how can people not go that long without spending on overpriced, poor quality food and drink. There's a family of 4 that sits in front of me and between them they must head down into the concourse at minimum 5 times a game for food and drink.

I thought it was just me that goes to matches only to watch the football and support my team. I don't feel any need to eat or even drink at a match. Or to shout or gesticulate at the opposing fans.

So you go to the games and sit in silence I take it? There's nothing wrong with shouting and the like. Having a bit of passion for your club is what it's about. I don't condone fighting or throwing flares or what have you, but you're acting as if the moment you open your mouth at a game, you're part of the problem.

There was someone on Facebook yesterday complaining about the behaviour of City fans. Someone else come on asked her what she expected and that if she didn’t like the violence then she shouldn’t go.
I like the edge that exists at football. The result matters to most people who go. For me, like most people on here, our results have an effect on my mood for a while on a Saturday or Tuesday night. I don’t see why that need to be partisan should lead to the crap behaviour seen at games.
Last week we were sat in a block in the away end at Southampton next to the City fans. It amazes me how many people just stood in there looking across at Saints fans. Basically they spent good money to travel a 6 hours round trip with all the cost involved to spend 120 minutes staring and shouting abuse at a group of people from another City who they don’t know, have never met and will never see again. The football for them was incidental at best.
Why? You wouldn’t drive to another city and abuse people from there at a theatre, a shopping centre or in the pub. Why do it at football? I look at some of the people who are doing it and wonder what sad lives they must live if the height of their entertainment is abusing someone from another town for 90 minutes.

I don't have a problem with people going to the match and focusing on other things than the football (it's their money after all).

I've been to music festivals in the past and hardy heard any music, being focused on other 'recreational' activities.

What I didn't do was shout insults at families with children. That needs to stop.

At away games I do think banter with the home fans is part of the day out but not for 90 mins straight, not personal insults and constantly giving V signs all game. That's just sad and pathetic

Football away days have definitely become less enjoyable thanks to a small minority of our fans. And I'm pretty sure it's every club that has this issue

Another big day out brigade causing trouble after the game. Group of Preston fans walking towards the Cherry Tree road (once again, why?) giving it the usual abuse to Coventry fans.

The fence situation caused problems with Preston fans who were frustrated at not being about to get to the station.

I really think it’s time to lock the away fans in for a bit and any damage they cause in the waiting should be billed to their club, there seems to be far to many areas where fans can get at each other.

Not sure why this has become a problem this season? Don't remember serious crowd trouble at the Ricoh in the past?
