Fucking hell
Yup, they should be picking the brains of Musk.People only seem to look at musk through the lense of Twitter/X and his political views which is a bit short sighted. I think looking at his CV they’d be lucky to get him involved….
Runs a company that made EVs mainstream and as far as I’m aware still the only car company that can make them profitably (also made their IP open source). Also not far off self driving vehicles
Runs a company that has rolled out satellite internet to parts of the world where there is no chance of traditional WiFi/broadband
Started a company that is ahead of most/all nation states when it comes to space travel and is delivering reusable rockets which produces far more efficient/cost effective space exploration/travel
Involved in starting a company (neuralink) that is developing ways to help give quadriplegics the ability to control devices through their thoughts and can possible help to restore some blind people’s eyesight
Runs a company that has rolled out large scale battery storage units (megapack) that are driving renewable energy
Big ego, undoubtedly, said some stuff he shouldn’t have, yep but shouldn’t governments be picking the brains of people like musk ? Have people not seen the state of politicians these days ?!
ps I agree if 75% of civil servants are sacked the state would collapse. Can’t see that happening though

No surprise to me. He’s a fascist pig of a man.Surely the system would collapse if you got rid of 75% of civil servants. Saying that look what he did when he took over twitter and how that has rapidly deteriorated as a result
Trump's not even taken over yet and there's already rumblings of discontent from Rep voters that he's not going to follow through on his promises. Very predictable as he, along with his running mates, were just saying what they thought whoever was in the room wanted to hear. Already walking back on banning vaccines and Trump promised to pardon anyone for guilty of crimes related to January 6th which possibly isn't as easy as he thinks.
Looks like he's going to be off the hook with his legal troubles though. The general consensus is now it would cause too much of a constitution problem if he was sentenced so that will be delayed until his term has finished
He's a Bond villain.
Undoubtedly got some very clever ideas with technical stuff but he comes across a someone who has absolutely no understanding of people. Hence why he spends his time around machines - he can make sense of them with set rules that always apply in every situation.
People aren't like that and different strategies and stimulii work for different people. For Musk it'd be everyone should be the same and reactthe same so therefore one plan fits all.
I'm always sceptical of business people being brought into government as the emphasis of the two are very different. Musk is the ultimate example of that.

He got lucky with PayPal and has picked companies well and played PR brilliantly to pump his stock. Outside of SpaceX, results are mixed. Tesla is fast losing its lead and seems to be going down a dead end on self driving, X is losing money and members hand over fist, but probably wasn’t bought to make cash TBF, his solar and battery business as being eaten by Chinese imports. His robotics are fairly middle of the road, his mass transit and freight ambitions have come to nothing.
Hasn’t he got a bit of Asperger/autism so probably struggles to show empathy which maybe isnt ideal with public sector/government ! Agree that successful businessmen/women don’t necesssrily translate to being helpful in government but I’m all from bringing ideas etc from outside. Id imagine he’d be looking at things like AI to help drive some efficiency improvements
Even though I called him a Bond villain, I don't think he's 'evil'.He got lucky with PayPal and has picked companies well and played PR brilliantly to pump his stock. But I don’t think he’s evil. I think he think a lot of himself and is socially awkward. He probably sincerely believes he can make government much more efficient like he has his companies and he is very good at efficiency in his companies.
TBH Musk is the one Trump appointee I’m least concerned about.
FFS.No surprise to me. He’s a fascist pig of a man.
He fired 80% of the employees at Twitter and the platform handles more traffic and data than ever. Some rumours he could fire as many as 75% of American civil servants. I would assume the only departments they’d want to keep open would be the military, immigration and perhaps some tax collection stuff.
Oh man, wishing someone’s head chopped is a bit harsh, just because you dont like his politics?Yup, they should be picking the brains of Musk.
Just with him strapped down in a operating theatre, with the top.of his bonce chopped off
But many would argue that X is now a complete mess, with no censure for saying absolutely untrue things and bots running rampant. He fired 80% of the employees at Twitter and the platform handles more traffic and data than ever.
“Experts” said it would fall over.
Musk was right.
Firing 75% of civil servants is unlikely, but I bet there are huge swathes of people doing not a lot.
Civil servants vote leftwards. Lefty governments like to overbloat civil services. Pretty straightforward.

It’s not me calling him a fascist, just people who worked with him last time.FFS.
Leftist:
“let’s be kind to everyone”
Then:
“I don’t agree with him. Fascist pig of a man”
Shameful
Any idea what a fascist is?It’s not me calling him a fascist, just people who worked with him last time.
You're beyond parody at this point. My belief:
Those on here attacking Trump or Musk:
“non net contributors”, ie, work in academia, the civil service, NHS etc. Get offended when things outside of their echobuvblrpointed out.
Those with balanced positions:
Open minded, like to study facts, probably work in private sector
(Waits for silly emojis from those who fit into category 1, above).

Absolutely. That’s why I reserve it for Trump and not simply everyone I disagree with.Any idea what a fascist is?
Yeah, because I was being really serious obviously.Oh man, wishing someone’s head chopped is a bit harsh, just because you dont like his politics?

Interesting view that NHS employees are non net contributors and are not open minded and don’t study facts. My belief:

I’d like to learn more about the idea that academics don’t study factsInteresting view that NHS employees are non net contributors and are not open minded and don’t study facts.
So would I.I’d like to learn more about the idea that academics don’t study facts
His pick for Homeland Security once falsely claimed in a book to have met Kim Jong UnMatt Gaetz being nominated for Attorney General is deeply unserious behaviour.
