The way appears to have been cleared for new development plans on the 71-acre site, owned by the Ronald Wilson Trust, after the Secretary of State recently rejected proposals to build 200 houses and a community centre on the swathe of land following a public inquiry
If planning permission couldn't be gained for a mere 200 houses, what chance has a football stadium got?
And why is that "worrying?" It is after all the agenda for the meeting so whu go and ytalk about anything else?. I have a particular point to make about how the club has allowed season ticket numbers to decline (even before this season) and how the club needs to have a massive push on this and a dose of humility to welcome back the lost generation- not just this seasons missing but those who have deserted over the last 5 years - this applies whether we are building a new ground or back at the Ricoh. There is no long term viability of club until this is recognised and acted upon.
Of course, I could always take your advice and wrap myself in a piss soaked bedsheet and shout SISU Out from the back of the room. In my experience, my option will have more impact, but thanks for the advice.

Unless you knock down half of Blackhorse Road then access is limited to a few small estate roads.

I suppose if they planned to also build a community centre with it as such was tooted that might help there cause.
that was my thought. the government are coming under pressure to build homes as there is a housing shortage, i'm yet to hear anyone putting the government under pressure to build more sporting venue's. especially as there is an empty one with the right colour seating the other side of the motorway.
i'll believe it when it's confirmed they've purchased the site, until then we are back to square 1. mushrooms, all of us. even andrea b and rfc despite what they like to think.

Which is presumably why the planning permission for a housing estate was thrown out?
Obviously the Coventry Telegaph's article is a guess, but the evidence is compelling when you look at it, N&B Council won't confirm or deny it when other Councils could and the land would be suitable however you would be asking about access and traffic regarding that site.
I suppose that a community centre isn't going to do them much good then ? Seeing as it was proposed with the houses that got turned down. You would need one more for houses than a stadium

Think the boundary is the M6.Where is the city boundary? Wouldn't that site be so close to the city that CCC would be involved due to traffic flow, potential infrastructure changes etc?
As they said on the article sometimes they can have discussions with certain parties that are kept confidential, I think they will come back to the Sky Blue Trust and confirm that they have spoken to the Club's owners.
