With respect this is not answering my question
I want zero fly zones I want zero military action and nothing that happens in Ukraine will change that view
If the sanctions fail - my belief is they will but that’s an opinion - even if Ukraine was bombed to pieces I would not want one British soldier dying for Ukraine
You?
I've said what I want to see
However, Ukraine is at war so they will procure weapons however they see fit. This is a dirty war according to reports of intensive bombardments that will not achieve anything other than to strengthen Ukraine‘s resolve. Russia can’t have it all their own way.Well it's a bit like saying
" we can't send them to you because if we do that we may create a full blown war because we are flying what Russia will see as hostile military aircraft into their airspace......... but you are very welcome to come and collect them yourselves. "
It's a very thin line. Not thin enough for Putin, surely.
Oh reality I must have missed it - what?

It's fitting that his parrot is yellow and blue.
We had a bit of discussion on it last week-check your spreadsheet. If Ukraine is allowed to fall we just hand Putin an enormous wad of territory and all the encouragement he needs to invade more of his neighbours.
But that’s not an answer is it
The question is if the only thing they would stop this is military action is this something you’d want that’s the question yes or no
Me no under any circumstance no
It's normally only right nuts on Twitter and Instagram etc that use that term-very much an American influence. It's something of a "red flag" when you see the term used. Ironically enough.
I don't want boots on the ground nor do I think it's needed. What I want is an aerial campaign against their ground forces.
Given that the British Isles are never going to be invaded why do you still think we have an armed forces?
Guaranteed to inflame and escalate.
An aerial campaign is boots on the ground
The second point is stupid. We have it fir many reasons including if allies are attacked
Ukraine is not an ally
Guaranteed to inflame and escalate.
You’re missing the point. It was all a ruse then as much as it is now.He was co editor of socialist alternatives when he frequently attacked kinnock and accused him of being right wing - he was very much integrated into the labour left
Unless this was another Keir Starmer?
So in other words we are prepared to have our soldiers die in foreign lands depending on the cause. What's insanity is expecting Putin to just hand back what he's invested this much in taking.
Maybe, but the arms they've been given so far has caused immense damage to the Russian army, so I don't see why this would escalate any more than already is the case
You say no to military intervention and Ukraine gets taken over. So Putin goes after places like Moldova. He's already threatened Finland and Sweden. So then this happens all over again and once again you say no to military action and every time it emboldens Putin to go further and further. This will not stop until Putin is stopped somehow. But that’s not an answer is it

I'm hopeful that the sanctions will have an effect and that Ukrainian resistance will last long enough for questions to be asked of Putin by his own people. The anti-war protests across Russia show a small but promising lead in that direction and the longer it goes on the more people will question Putin and he might be brought down from within.
If not, like Hitler he'll just push further and further until action is necessary. I certainly don't want it but I feel it may end up being unavoidable one way or another.
I'm not sure if people realise a no fly zone means troops on the ground?
Would be a catastrophe.

Hitler never had a nuclear arsenal.
That is indeed the big problem.Hitler never had a nuclear arsenal.
Oh simply because that is a breach of nato regulations and a declaration of war
But hey that’s ok. I guess you’ll be signing up for fighting thd Russians and the Chinese. Good luck

Which NATO regulation is that a breach of?
Sitting back and waiting for their moment to become world superpower #1That is indeed the big problem.
But either way he just carries on pushing, using the nuclear weapons as a means of stopping others getting involved. If that works for non-NATO countries there will come a point where he will be so damn sure of himself he would invade one, believing he cannot be defeated.
It feels like almost an inevitability at some stage unfortunately. Our only hope is he gets toppled from within.
And through all this God knows what China are planning to get up to.
So if someone invaded here I assume you'd be absolutely fine with the rest of the world saying "Not my problem. Britain isn't worth a single ounce of blood" and you'd be quite happy to have this enemy shelling the fuck out of your house and shooting at you and your family?I’ve never really considered the escalation possibility but this is looking like world war 1 all over again
People need to get their heads out their arses. Ukraine isn’t worth a single ounce of blood for
ask China you fool this isn’t a game of top
Trumps

Though knowing you you'd just cosy up to them and find a way they would give you money.
China doesn't have a login here.
I'm asking you.
That is indeed the big problem.

You can't answer then.
Didn't think so.
