Isn't it weird how coffee has become so bloody trendy these days, particularly to be see carrying around with you when walking around the shops. It's like a fashion accessory.
" What did you do at the weekend?"
" Oh Charlotte and I like went for a coffee in town? "
In other words you did fuck all.

This stand-up routine would go down a storm in 2003.

I know, I know...pretty much the whole globalised corporate world is devoid of any real ethics, and I also appreciate that I, along with everyone else who hasn't gone off-grid to live in a yurt & weave hemp, feed the machine.....I'm failry sure that kids younger than mine were probably forced to dig for same elements to ensure my budget phone remained "budget"....

....but when the death, pain & suffering is immediate & right in the worlds face, so much so that even cunts like Apple & Shell have pulled out, I think these shitty burger & coffe chains need their brand shredding to bits....

I agree, was just pointing out another example of corporate cuntishness to get people even more angry.
Corporate culture is the root cause of a fair amount of the world's ills in my opinion.

Swap the word coffee for beer and is it any different really?

Either way you're sitting down with a friend and drinking a liquid.

Mmm touched a nerve there - ok wokery comment was an add on - the whole Home office does need a complete overhaul with its procedures - in order to do that it needs someone to be pretty firm -no place for bullying but we haven’t got all century - some if the incumbents may be from Oxbridge but you need content experts and not just project managers

In fairness, I'd argue that what you need is a real desire to sort it out from the leadership. How long would it actually take to set up an office in Calais and staff it with a dozen people who know what they're doing?

Check and scan passport, take fingerprints, issue emergency visa. Next!

If the desire was there we could have it running tomorrow and staff it 24/7 and start making a proper dent in this. The problem is not Oxbridge, wokery, or project managers.

Part of that's because the coffee is getting more elaborate and takes most of the weekend to make.

Eight million possible combinations of coffee, and that's not including what kind of sweetener you want in it.

It's easier to be a Barrister than a Barista.

Jar, spoon, milk, sugar, boiling water, ta.

Certainly sir, that'll be £12.50 and a twenty minute wait, please...

Worst is at train stations when you've got about 10 minutes before yours and there's some twat wanting it to take that long for their disgusting hot drink.

Anyway, Putin

US seem determined to get planes to Ukraine. Poland "giving" US its migs. Don't think Russia is going to be fooled by that. It's an escalation if jets given to Ukraine. Not going necessarily going to be seen as defensive weapons.

Just saw that too.

If we're not going to go in directly though, we've surely got to give them everything we can.

It's not as though anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons are purely defensive tools.

For all his bluster, I can't see Putin hitting the big red button over this - we've got to keep the pressure on.

Will these MIGS be taking off from Poland on their missions or be based somewhere in Ukraine ? Are there any airfields in Ukraine still under Ukrainian control ?
My worry is that if they operate from within Poland then technically it will be NATO involved in the war.

Yeah, surely that won't be the case will it? I think it will be carefully planned so that doesn't happen. How? I have no idea, but I do believe Ukraine do still control some airfields.

Still control much of the west. Should be facilities there. Won't be operating be from NATO bases.

I'm guessing these planes will have to be flown to Ukrainian bases from Poland. I suspect when that happens the Russians will be tracking them and know how many and where.

Surely they will try and shoot them down en route. If they do they will claim these planes were on an attacking sortie operation by NATO from Poland . How would NATO disprove that ? Getting these planes over the border to Ukrainian bases could be a risky process.

Well, you'd think so wouldn't you.

News says they would be flown to Rammstein. Not clear how they would reach Ukraine. One thing NATO is being quiet on is how weapons are reaching Ukraine but apparently 17000 anti-tank missiles and over a 1000 stingers have got through.

Slightly off topic, but this is something else I've considered and would be harder to overcome than energy IMO, due to the land requirements (and assuming said land is suitable).

Think it's possible but farming would be totally different, relying on hydroponics in high-rise/skyscrapers which are pretty much just massive greenhouses. Can grow more in the same space and have less wastage of water and get maximum yield by giving exactly the right nutrients to each plant and also if necessary light and heat. A lot of plants don't actually require soil, it's just a means for them to extract water and nutrients.

Would be come a lot easier as people move to a less meat-heavy diet.
You sound like you have, err, a bit of...experience of hydroponics? ;)
