Front line looking much better than last season - good work MR and the team.
Agreed. Nothing to set the division alight at this stage. Steady progress and hopefully incremental improvement year on year with this forward line (Gyo & Walker).
Want the focus to shift to defence now. They’re obviously trying, but that’s my biggest area of concern.

I suspect that he will use all 4 or 5 in most games as he is intending to use a High press system with the forwards
They will be expected to put it all in in 60minutes then be replaced
In basic term they will run their bollocks off then be replaced
Suspect a rotational system for a start place dependent on the opposition
Bright invovled in a high press ? 🤣

Did only join mid season tbf. He was good in the last few games but was mostly bumbling whenever I seen him, hoping it was fitness rather than ability.

I think it was probably fitness. He'd been twiddling his thumbs at Swansea for 6 months beforehand. Hopefully with a proper pre-season and going straight into the first team mix we'll see the side of him we saw the last few games.

Yeah I suspect they'll all get plenty of minutes and be rotated during the game, but Robins tends to start the players in form. Last year there was a clear hierarchy, whereas this year it much more even. The players that stake the best claim will get the most minutes. Healthy competition, it's exciting.

Can Waghorn play a little deeper? Competition for O'Hare perhaps.

Had a dream he scored a tap in in front of the west terrace. And it took two mins of looking at VAR to rule it out.

Only worry is that Godden, Walker and Waghorn are all 5ft10 so Victor is our only “big man” but he doesn’t really play as a target man. I do just worry that we don’t have a plan B in those strikers but as always, MR knows what he’s doing.

It took him a while to get going last season due to fitness issues, he looked excellent in the last few games, this is a very good signing.

Yep, I think Waghorn, Walker, Godden and Gyo is relatively decent if they all stay fit actually.

I agree. I haven’t really seen much of James Collins but that’s not stopping me holding the belief that Waghorn is better than him…I’m also assuming we signed Waghorn as we didn’t get Collins.

Gyo looked class towards the end of the season. We’ve got good options up top and seemingly some rapid youngsters waiting to get a chance.

Get the bloody defence/midfield sorted out Robins!

What do you think he is doing, transfers and signings take time ffs! especially nowadays, Robins has set out his targets and reeled them in nice and quietly and he will do the same with his other targets some of whom are set up according to Dave Boddy still a month to go before the big kick off and nearly two months until the transfer window shuts.

Why are you obsessed with prem U23? Loads fail even at that age and tumble through the leagues. You yourself are even admitting hes probably not good enough by saying hes 'potential championship standard'. We paid about 750k for Walker who's currently way ahead of Gyokeres.

2 out on loan at Lincoln last season looked very good, Brennan Johnson who plays for Forest & Morgan Rogers at Man City. Much rather have someone like that on loan for a year then someone who couldn't get into the team ahead of an injured Biamou.
Looks like Morgan Rogers is out of our reach

I don’t particularly rate him but he did well the last few games of the season so happy to give him a chance next season.

Main concern is that he never looks particularly comfortable with the ball at his feet, and despite scoring a few goals I wasn’t overly impressed with his finishing. Still young so plenty of time to improve.

So is Mark Robins going to play TWO strikers upfront next season?

He did a lot of the time last year (particularly once we had players back), so not sure why that would change.

He may have played two strikers but not together as a front two, if he does it means a change of formation, ie 442.
