Sporting boss Amorim being strongly linked with the Man Utd post. Not difficult to imagine he'd want Vik.

Seems likely to be a target for Ruben.

To be honest, I hope he goes as I just want to get the sell on fee at this point 🤣. But also the bigger he makes it in the game, the bigger selling point we have to High potential players since it all started here under Mark Robins.

Probably the first very strong source on any Vik move since going to Sporting. Would be surprised if it was less than the 70m which should net us around 4-5m

Was never going to go for the release clause. 60-70m from playing in that league is much more realistic. It’s still a nice amount of money to have
If that's the list of clubs interested you'd think they could push the price up a bit - see Mudryk lol

Suspect Vik may have a similar sort of agreement that he had with us to allow him to choose between anyone who meets the asking price though. He and his agent have managed his career very well.

A bidding war would be nice... All the noise was around PSG 2 weeks ago, Man City last week and United this week! All have stronger 'links' than Arsenal did in the summer as well.

Going to Man United is career suicide, Sporting was a wise choice by him and his agent I can’t see him going to United.

And if I’m not mistaken Sporting ‘bought back’ a portion of that over the summer. I’d expect it’s now 5% of profit.
They paid off extra clauses early to get it down from 15% to 10%. I think it was because they weren't sure he was sticking around in the summer.

I could definitely see there being a bit of a bidding war for Vik, his stats are not slowing down. If Amorim moves to United, City want to prep for life after Haaland could get a much bigger chunk of change

He isn't going to sigh Vik

They already have enough attacking options that would score loads in the Sporting Club team and united have other weakness they need to address first

Even if Utd don’t sign him I think it makes it likely he leaves anyway.
Vik's agent was very clear he moved him there for Amorim but I'm not sure it will be a major factor at this point. It sounds like Vik wanted to go in the summer anyway and so again it will be about whether anyone meets Sporting's valuation and how far Vik pushes it.

I think I read somewhere Man City have £100mil knocking about for attacking option in January. Alvarez left and they haven’t replaced him.

I thought they’d paid an extra amount to further reduce it. The article doesn’t read that way though so happy to accept I may be mistaken.

They paid an extra amount to reduce it rather than wait for the add ons to all kick in and reduce it. Afaik deal was:

€20m up front
€4m of performance related add ons
15% sell on dropping to 10% when all add ons have been paid or if the difference between what’s been paid and the €4m is paid (which is what happened this summer cos if he’d gone for the release fee it would have saved them several hundred thousand I think, maybe more)

Sporting won't sell in January, they won't be able to replace him. They'll sell in the summer as it is far easier to bring in players to replace anyone they sell in the summer window.
