Do the main players in the sky blues trust actually attend games at St Andrews
Do the main players in the sky blues trust actually attend games at St Andrews
Said this for years.
Our protesting has always been fucking pathetic. The trust aren't fully to blame, the fans in general have been poor.
Sorry to say it, but so many other clubs would have done so much more. We pissed around with placards and a few chants.
The Trust should have taken a leaf out of Charlton's book.
There Probably in corporate seats at the Ricoh enjoying free hospitality.Do the main players in the sky blues trust actually attend games at St Andrews
Protest ? Have we even ever staged one always said you imagine this happened to Leeds Utd for example do you think they would be in our position playing out of leeds ? Not a single chance
21 people, no Trust backing until the last possible minute, a senior figure (not from Wasps, interestingly) tried to put off the protest, too.Protest ? Have we even ever staged one

Pretty shit, really.
I did say no Trust backing until the last possible minute. That’s not protest organised by the fans group
Also it’s really about the official supporters club really going on an offensive about boycotts, negative PR, constantly on CWR - the reality is they are a bunch of brainwashed drones on an agenda that has nothing to do with this football club
It’s embarrassing mate the powers that be need to step aside...The trust my arse waste of time jokers21 people, no Trust backing until the last possible minute, a senior figure (not from Wasps, interestingly) tried to put off the protest, too.

On train back talking To 3 villa season ticket holders. All young - in their twenties - and interested why we are playing in Birmingham - it was two girls and a guy.
The girls were fairly clued up on the council flogging time Wasps and said it was shameful, a disgrace and community sport has to be valued.
The most telling observation cane when one asked what is your trust doing about it - ours would be road blocking the ground, demanding a wasps boycott and making life impossible for them
When I showed them the trust twitter feed one comment
“They are a disgrace to loyal supporter”
Indeed

This 100%Can't agree with this. Blackpool, Charlton etc were all united behind a common enemy. The problem we've had for years is that we can't even agree about who we should be protesting about and to. The whole thing is a convuluted mess.
There have been a lot of protests, in our relegation season, we disrupted 4 games where players had to be taken off the pitch. It went well beyond placard waving on a number of occasions. What good did it do? None, because those protests were aimed at one party who were so detached from them it made no difference. We were widely condemned by Sheff Utd and Northampton fans who suggested the protests were disgraceful. They weren't, but they were pointless ultimately.
If there was one big mistake we made it was not creating a bigger fuss when Wasps arrived, but everyone was so blinded by their hatred for SISU they couldn't see the bigger picture at that point.
This.... can you imagine Leeds and Liverpool backing the council, and rolling the red carpet out to wasps? Can't agree with this. Blackpool, Charlton etc were all united behind a common enemy. Not sure what's worst for the lads on the train.....being lifelong Villa fans or having the very deep misfortune of meeting Grendel.
Probably the latter.
I showed them a few of your suck up posts - they thought you sounded like an utter wanker
Some excellent posts on this thread. What we should be doing is what we can to stop people wanting to go to watch wasps in the first place.
We don't know if negotiations continue or not. If sisu have a plan to sit tight and wait 5-10 years before wasps might go under then that's completely unacceptable.
It's time we amassed thousands of supporters to make a human chain outside of the Ricoh at a wasps game and make our feelings known. No violence . No law breaking but create an environment that will put some wasps supporters off should we repeat it. .
If either wasps or sisu don't like it we would no doubt hear about it and perhaps the reasons why .
We need to raise the profile of our plight because the football world has forgotten.
Have we got enough supporters who care about the club to do this ? Yes we have but so far, apart from two big marches, all I've seen is half arsed demos involving a few dozen fans. I can't think of any club as " big" as ours who's fans have done so little. The blame lies with those who put themselves forward as representative groups for the supporters. They're a disgrace.
It's difficult because no one wants violence or to be arrested but surely it'll piss wasps off if we motivated thousands to do it. They would perhaps retaliate by saying that by doing so we jeopardise talks to return the sky blues to the Ricoh. For me that would indicate they would be worried . They can't hold supporters to ransom .Lets do something for the next time Wasps are home on an International weekend? Maybe blocking the turnstiles might not be the answer as I suspect that would end up in violence but definitely something up there to create some sort of scene.
Lots of ideas for protests have been put forward. Lots of protests have happened. It usually results in a barrage of derision from some of the posters on here. Twenty one of us turned up at a Wasps game at the end of last season. That was barely enough enough to form a chain around Jimmy Hill and the ‘Wasps shop’. The Trust should be doing more and should have Wasps and CCC in their sights too. For what ever reason that is not happening. Not aiming this at you at all, but I think a lot of posters are very quick to voice their opinions but are a lot less willing to actually do anything. Some excellent posts on this thread. It’s been said numerous times that there is no way fans of West Ham,Leeds,Villa et al would have maintained the status quo and acceptance that is Coventry City over the last decade.
People more bothered about “it put the players off” when in reality any dingbat could see that the half arsed team that went down to L2 were happy at any deflection it took away from their incompetence as footballers.
“The protests didn’t do any good” is another lazy response. Do we know what may have happened if they were organised properly and were more regular?
There is a saying that you reap what you sow.......
The idea of confrontation puts a lot of people off , understandably so.Lots of ideas for protests have been put forward. Lots of protests have happened. At the time no. 3 parties who could still/should still be being held to account but guess what-nothing and as said previously people happy to bumble along and maintain the status quo even now knowing what has supposedly come to light. They weren’t protests against Wasps were they?
