Why does everyone assume this is bad news? I don't for a minute believe the club would have sacked him without input from Robins so you've only really got a couple of options.
1) its his decision and he's moving up to a better position, in which case good luck to him. In the same way the club can survive its best players leaving it can certainly survive a coach leaving no matter how good he is or how big of a role he has played
2) it isn't his decision and the club have decided a change needs to be made. As I said its unthinkable that would be done without Robins full involvement so we have to trust that this is for the best.
A shock certainly but not the end of the world. No doubt the usual suspects will be all over this with doom and gloom.
Fair enough DavidWhy? Managers have different assistants all the time.
Fergie had loads, Pep has had a billion.
Calm down
Because it is change... people have accelerated past shock and are into anger & blame. Why does everyone assume this is bad news?
The new performance director is taking this club to the next level and we have some really exciting times ahead. Adi leaving was nothing to do with the performance director, but was probably the right time. Get ready for a really exciting appointment!
I thought this - That’s a key Robins ally gone

I’m not overly worried. Just the first thought that crossed my mind. I’m sure it’s all about evolution 2bhI doubt this would have happened without Robins being consulted though.
Day one of pre-season and we've already got people saying Robins is going to walk. That's got to be some sort of record.Nice to see we are having a meltdown on the first day of preseason.
Maybe we could give the new guys a chance
Exactly, just because it's announced today doesn't mean it didn't happen weeks ago. Robins is quoted saying its been an extensive process and it certainly sounds like its one he's been involved in. People are talking like its been done behind his back and he's turned up to Ryton today and found outGuessing it;s been ongoing for a while, just not announced. Doubt Viveash would have turned up at Ryton today to see Boateng on his chair.
it sounds like the new director has reviewed and sees the coaching structure as a weakness and an area to improveFair point but does seem harsh if he’s been pushed and does raise the question as to whether Robins was ok with it or even could also be on his way.
Wtf. Wonder what’s gone on there.
Does it?
It’s a bold move. Adi seems like a great bloke but none of us know what his actual coaching abilities are like.
I suspect this is the next stage of our evolution. It’s naive to think that the same coaching staff we had in league 2 are suitable for a premier league promotion push.
Just thought about this. Boateng pic was tweeted a few days ago. They’ve tweeted Doyle twice in the past 3 days.I’m going to guess Michael Doyle comes in as new assistant.
We faltered to begin with when Viveash came in, so hopefully we don't do similar now.Let's not forget the assistant before Viveash, it wasn't like he came in from the off.
Welcome back George Boateng

Well we know for certain adi had 9 successful years as chelsea u18 manager and he had 7 successful years with coventry city .
Are we suggesting aston villas u23 coach is the right man for the push instead ?

Might have been Robins decisionI doubt this would have happened without Robins being consulted though.
Until he came here Robins was struggling in league two so it’s fair to raise issues
They're also posted Mustapha Hadji, Gary McAllister & Noel Whelan - surely there isn't room on the coach for all of them.Just thought about this. Boateng pic was tweeted a few days ago. They’ve tweeted Doyle twice in the past 3 days.
Yeah it’s possible but will still be interesting to see if MR is on board with it.it sounds like the new director has reviewed and sees the coaching structure as a weakness and an area to improve
it may work or it may not but that is her job to try and make these improvements

I do feel if we do not get close (ie play off final) then this will be his last year.Robins will be gone by October and some Venezuelan academy coach with a degree and 17 badges will take over
