Why does everyone assume this is bad news? I don't for a minute believe the club would have sacked him without input from Robins so you've only really got a couple of options.

1) its his decision and he's moving up to a better position, in which case good luck to him. In the same way the club can survive its best players leaving it can certainly survive a coach leaving no matter how good he is or how big of a role he has played

2) it isn't his decision and the club have decided a change needs to be made. As I said its unthinkable that would be done without Robins full involvement so we have to trust that this is for the best.

A shock certainly but not the end of the world. No doubt the usual suspects will be all over this with doom and gloom.

All I'm saying is , I watched the club change goalkeeping coach and the keepers still threw the ball in the net

The new performance director is taking this club to the next level and we have some really exciting times ahead. Adi leaving was nothing to do with the performance director, but was probably the right time. Get ready for a really exciting appointment!

Oh this feels like a dark omen. Hopefully I'm reading too much into it.

Might be wrong but Adi was still living in Wootton Bassett I believe. 4 hour round trip for him. If it was me I'd have sacked that off the first offer I got closer to home. Any clubs closer to him looking for staff?

Nice to see we are having a meltdown on the first day of preseason.

Maybe we could give the new guys a chance
Day one of pre-season and we've already got people saying Robins is going to walk. That's got to be some sort of record.
Guessing it;s been ongoing for a while, just not announced. Doubt Viveash would have turned up at Ryton today to see Boateng on his chair.
Exactly, just because it's announced today doesn't mean it didn't happen weeks ago. Robins is quoted saying its been an extensive process and it certainly sounds like its one he's been involved in. People are talking like its been done behind his back and he's turned up to Ryton today and found out 😂

Fair point but does seem harsh if he’s been pushed and does raise the question as to whether Robins was ok with it or even could also be on his way.
it sounds like the new director has reviewed and sees the coaching structure as a weakness and an area to improve

it may work or it may not but that is her job to try and make these improvements

Does it?

It’s a bold move. Adi seems like a great bloke but none of us know what his actual coaching abilities are like.

I suspect this is the next stage of our evolution. It’s naive to think that the same coaching staff we had in league 2 are suitable for a premier league promotion push.

Well we know for certain adi had 9 successful years as chelsea u18 manager and he had 7 successful years with coventry city .

Are we suggesting aston villas u23 coach is the right man for the push instead ?

Major shock this.

He's been key to coaching, tactics and player development through these good times.

I wonder how much this new performance director has to do with it?

Let's not forget the assistant before Viveash, it wasn't like he came in from the off.
We faltered to begin with when Viveash came in, so hopefully we don't do similar now.

Until he came here Robins was struggling in league two so it’s fair to raise issues

Yeah it’s possible but will still be interesting to see if MR is on board with it.

A mate of mine told me about this towards the end of the season but didn’t think it was plausible to be honest. Still shocked it’s actually happened!

Misogynists on here already going to go to town on our new performance director I see. Give it a chance... none of us know what AV was like to work with.
For me we need to hear what Mark R thinks. We are hopefully becoming a better organised outfit top to bottom but seems a shame if there is any sour atmosphere. He always looked proud of players and seems to have a good rapport with them but doubt any of us really know.

Nobody likes change but sometimes fresh eyes on a situation can bring good things. Yes Adi was with us through the tough times but if we want to get to the next level then sometimes nostalgia and sentiment have to be parked. I'm excited

They're also posted Mustapha Hadji, Gary McAllister & Noel Whelan - surely there isn't room on the coach for all of them.

We're getting the band back together! We've sacked off our business model, no more up and coming players, and we're going all in on the old'uns!

(Well, we did say we needed a bit of experience!)
