Watch the Dammed United, Clough was shit without Taylor

To be fair it says a lot about AV that we are talking about him, a lot of assistants leave and it's not mentioned much by anyone. I thank him for his time but we move on, it's life

Brian Clough was the same without Peter Taylor. But that is the only example I can't think of?

Just got in and read the news, like most I'm shocked and tbh disappointed.... thanks to Adi for the fantastic achievements over his time here.
Fingers crossed the new coaching appointments will be a success.
None of us will know if Mark Robins has had any input into the comings and goings but it seems doubtful from the way things have been announced.

I think Kelly was more instrumental along with McFadzean to be honest.

I’m on about the L2 season coupled with the fact he’s played over 300 games for us. He must have the most amount of appearances for us since he joined back in 2004.

Fadz joined in the second year back in L1, though I do agree he was instrumental in our promotion back to the championship.

This is the next freshening up in our next chapter as a club.
Things can become stale and with this performance analyst and everything going on at the club it's clear the ambition and drive is upwards.
As long as Robins is here then I'm happy. Ultimately he's the most important person.

Adi has been brilliant for us but everything being done at the club is with the view of being better than before so I'm confident that will be the same with this.

Glad he got his song sung during the lap after the final game, and I hope he understands how much we appreciate his work in turning the club around.

Exciting times ahead though with an elite level infrastructure being built under the guidance of MR and the impressive new sporting director

I didnt know Adi was on his bike so this isnt aby ITK, just a chat I've had off the back of ghe news

Basically what has been posted above. His methods are quite old school. They are fantastic at bringing the best out of average players, but don't sit well with your multi million pound signings who have experienced higher levels of training etc. These changes have been made with a look at improving this side of the club and moving into a more modern way of player training and conditioning, which may well work

It's true he evidently didn't get on well with a few of last years new recruits.

He's known the writings on the wall for a while and leaves on his own terms there's no behind the scenes unrest with it other than people are a bit miffed with the way some things are done now. Don't expect to see him become a .manager elsewhere, he isn't interested..

It may well be a good move it may well be shit, but there is one thing I think we should all be worried about and that's Robins. And this is my own personal view....

Robins whole support network that got us to where we are today is now gone. He was very close personally and professionally with Boddy. The same for Dennis Lawrence, and of course we all saw his working relationship with Viveash got us from the pits of despair to now. All those Robins trusted Inherently are now gone. That's what we should be worried about. This revamp may well work a treat, and I'm sure we all hope it does, but I genuinely feel that if we don't get Promoted, or run it extremely close, we may well be sitting here this time next year discussing a new manager.

Yup.

Its been a real move of intent by the club, in recent times, to get the infrastructure up to scratch, to prepare for that push to the Promised Land.

I do feel that it’s now make or break for MR.

I remember that midfield of Michael Doyle & Stephen Hughes circa 2004-2008..Truly Horrible

Doyle worked hard and was tigerish, but technically not great, horrendous first touch.

Hughes strolled around playing sideways passes and taking shite set pieces.

Fair play to Micky Doyle though, when he was used correctly (alongside Dennis Wise for instance) we saw the best of him.
His contribution to that L2 Promotion was also huge.

Tbf, I posted this before the two new coaches were announced and was just guessing. I’m not convinced a new assistant is coming.

Fair play to Doyle, he is on record as saying he was inexperienced in his first stay at the club. Later in his career he would of handled the same situations at the club differently.

He was a driven player but never the most gifted. In fairness I think Dennis Wise could bring the best out of any player alongside him. Never rated Hughes in midfield.

Big surprise. I'll be interested in the reasoning behind it. You don't just let your coach go who has been a party to 7 years of revival at the club unless he wants to move on, or you have bigger ambition to support Robin's in a different way in achieving the goal of promotion that Adi just can't offer anymore. After such a long period with Robin's I would think Adi leaves with his blessing.

Gutted to see him go, in the same way as all the old guard.

Remains to be seen how it plays out, but the fact that this happened with Carr and Boateng in on the same day shows there's a level of strategic planning gone into this which gives me hope. If he had just got the sack there might be justification for some of the meltdowns.

Lets see what Robins says on this and lets see what he says about the two hired. I also want to hear from the 2 new staff as that will be interesting to hear what they have been told and what the remit is.

Im sure Adi will be missed like Lawrence was, but i just think Doug sees the way the team is run with the training side of things is moving on. Analysis and the mental side of the game is definitely becoming the future. Its not that the we are inventing the wheel, as the wheel has always been there, its we are learning how the wheel turns and making it turn faster without it falling off.

Its progression and its something i think Doug looks to a lot with all aspects of the business. . Will it work time will tell, are these the right hires, who knows, but its another foundational block put in to make the club ready to compete at its highest level.
