The only bonus (if there is one) today is it may have opened the managements eyes to how weak ability/mentality wise, especially in defence, we really are. Every reasonable team has a spine through the middle. We unfortunately have Jelly Fish.

Genuinely believe if Dovin & Bidwell were playing we win today.

We have issues but results are making things look worse than they are.
No good saying that though if we don’t play them. Completely agree on Bidwell and was my first option but regardless the mentality worries me. When we went 1-1 we just seemed to give up.

Regardless of the players on the pitch, our identity always used to be that we would keep working hard, our club motto is how we never give up. That is why I think we are in meltdown as the disconnect between the culture of the club and current 11 couldn’t be wider atm.

I mostly agree. I think that's partly a product of our own ambition though. If you think about the much loved 22/23 squad every single player without exception was playing at the highest level of football they had in their careers. Many had been with us since L1/Champo relegation fights. Less likely to be egos in that situation.

I worry we have sold a lot of our players the "premier league project" and they are perhaps losing faith. Also can't help that we have players who have at times been touted as some of the best in the league (Wright, Sheaf, MVE etc.) alongside Collins and Dasilva who we wouldn't be able to give away for free right now.

Nail on the head, problem is the current players, feel we’re just a step on the journey where as most of the teams we love, we were the biggest club they had played for and they acted like it.

Maybe instead of what we did, we should of continued the old model similarly to Luton when they went up and ensured the club culture was the same of hard graft and passion

3-4 experienced Championship level additions and we’ll be fine. An overhaul is not needed.
I don’t even think we need that many, 1-2 would suffice

We massively failed by not replacing the experience and mentality we lost in the summer - both myself and many others have said it before on

That is on Robins and the recruitment team, Lampard is working with what he has

I would expect this to be addressed in January if Lampard has learnt anything about this bunch of pussys

The worry , after watching all the games this season , is can we remain in this league ?
January’s transfer window & now its importance, might see us remain only by the skin of our teeth .
Yesterday’s diabolical performance, added to a lot of other poor performances, doesn’t look good, for getting rid of some of our highly purchased stars ……& questions have to be asked of recruitment

And by all accounts the owner who allegedly , wouldn’t sanction the signing of 2 experienced players, one of them being Matty James. So perhaps its not FL who needs to learn things?

p.s. Collins and JDS are still not good enough for the Championship.

Need to add Binks to that list. All season he’s been neglecting to cover the gap left behind the pushing on full back, whether it was DaSilva or Bidwell and *all* the teams we’ve played have exploited it. Yesterday the first two goals came from this (the first came from a corner conceded when Thomas had to throw himself in front of a shot that Lang had after wandering into the area uncontested).

Binks himself can do some great last minute lunges to rescue the defence (altho you might need to ask why so many are necessary), and those thirty yard diags to the wing look great when they don’t sail into touch 10 feet above the winger’s head, and yes he made a great tackle and celebrated like a hero at Wembley, but the blind spot so many of our fans have about him is peculiar.

If they are losing faith it’s their garbage performances that have turned this season into what it is.

If people think Marty James is the answer to our problems then football might not be for them.

James would not have prevented any of yesterday’s goals, he wouldn’t give us legs in midfield driving us forward with the ball.

If people think that those that wanted Matty James signed wanted him in because he has the legs to drive us forward with the ball then football might not be for them.

…smash Plymouth and we should be mid table and less emotional.

Plymouth played brilliant against Middlesbrough and should have won!! Worryingly they scored 3 goals too against a solid top 6 team, probs get 5 against us if we play players like binks and da silva
