Good player Ray, one hell of a shot on him for a full-back.Do you think ray Stewart who scored 80 plus goals for West Ham in 400 games was a prolific goal scorer?
He's not the only footballer who had covid, or who had to play through the pandemic.I thought at the time that Walker was the right signing but for one reason or another he just didn’t do enough. I think covid and the long term effects of that might have played a big part in why he has gone backwards this season. Can’t really see anyone wanting him next season.

Lol, that's hardly a ringing endorsement!Probably unpopular opinion but I'd rather have Walker as an option over Waghorn...
Not a ringing endorsement but felt he offered more than our option off the bench today. There is a player in Walker he just can't seem to bring it out anywhere near enough!Lol, that's hardly a ringing endorsement!
If we have any ambition at all, both have to go, along with Jones, Shipley, Pask and a few others.
I agree.Probably unpopular opinion but I'd rather have Walker as an option over Waghorn...
100%Probably unpopular opinion but I'd rather have Walker as an option over Waghorn...

Walker needed a run in the team to get his tail up and taking chances. He's very very unlikely to get that so to an extent I'd choose for both to leave but if I had to choose to keep one it would be Walker. The real question is if Walker is of genuinely much use to us.
I don't think anyone wants Waghorn anywhere near the team, so it's hardly a unpopular opinion in that sense.
Seems that many contributers want to 'get rid' of over half the squad no matter whether they are contracted or not
Football fans are priceless
That's like saying I'd sooner be punched in the nose than kicked in the balls, when the option to avoid either is availableI agree.
Waghorn offered far more than ohare yesterday so I personally would have him around the teamThe real question is if Walker is of genuinely much use to us.

Did he? I thought he was out of position on a number of occasions allowing them to attack. What did you see?Waghorn offered far more than ohare yesterday so I personally would have him around the team
Hi mate, I'm accepting apologies now. Amazon gift vouchers are fine.
Re-reading this thread has been so satisfying seeing some of the arrogant posters we have on here be shown up.
Behave better and be more respectful.
Yep such a shame that we have regressed on last year in terms of position, points and performances isn't it
Must be gutting for people like you that we are actually progressing year on year
No one wants the team to do badly (apart from maybe one poster). It's a bit of a strange thing to say.
You had a pop at me for saying the defence was still very weak specifically, which has proved to be correct now we are at the end of the season. Goals conceded in number is very similar too. Can't you see that, or are you just grumpy because I was right?
He's not the only footballer who had covid, or who had to play through the pandemic.
His problems were all to do with attitude.
That doesn't explain why he was shit before he got covid though.I think that's a tad unfair. It's quite obvious that it affects different people in different ways. Walker might have had more of a knock on from having it than someone else.
Given that we've been lacking attacking intent from the bench, especially with Godden injured, I'd keep Walker next season although I suspect he'd be 3rd in the pecking order - maybe even 4th.
Disappointed that it's not worked out for him at Pompey. Some of their fans have said when he played, he looked ok and was unlucky.
I happen to think our defence is weak...not very weak but definitely weak... our wing backs are up and down and I don't meanthe pitch, Bidwell has not really blossomed and Maatsen is often caught out of position, Dabo when on form can be very good and Kane is ok.. Rose loses concentration and loses his man, Hyam is very slow and his distribution is very poor at times, Fadz is getting older and is also slow JCS so far has had a couple of injuries but at times has looked calm and assured on the left and the defence on a whole has made so many mistakes by either being outpaced, outjumped, caught out of position, losing their man at set plays and giving the ball away so upgrades should definitely be on the cards if we want to progressI just think our definitions of very weak is different as I'm glass half full and you are glass half empty
It's definitely not correct to say our defence is very weak by any measurement you wish to use, could/should it be better, absolutely but I stand by the fact that it's not very weak in the slightest
We are 16th for goals conceded which obviously isn't great and needs working but certainly not very weak
Give it a rest you clown, he was top scorer last season. He's got a languid running style, he's not lazyThat doesn't explain why he was shit before he got covid though.
Waghorn is a decent player.
Affected this season by COVID / 2 month shoulder injury and also then competing with 2 strikers who have consistently scored goals when played.
We can only judge after a prolonged spell in the team…
Christ, think back 5 years with Andre Wright etc
You say that about Hyam and I can understand why, but when you look at different analysts, they see it in a different light. Liam Henshaw, who does quite a bit on EFL stats suggests Hyam was the 3rd best centre back in the league, how I don’t know. If you also look at the pass rate if the centre backs Faz is the best at 83% Rose and JCS are at 80 and Hyam at 79 so there doesn’t appear to be such a difference it could of course be Hyams passes are more noticeable?I happen to think our defence is weak...not very weak but definitely weak... our wing backs are up and down and I don't meanthe pitch, Bidwell has not really blossomed and Maatsen is often caught out of position, Dabo when on form can be very good and Kane is ok.. Your quite right, he's had a blinding season as his goals tally will testify!Give it a rest you clown, he was top scorer last season. He's got a languid running style, he's not lazy
I think it’s a major confidence issue with Walker. I was looking at his goals last season and this season on YouTube and they were well taken. If he can recapture his mojo then we may have a decent player on our hands. He just has to put his head down, work really hard and get back to basics to win back the trust of everyone.I'm sure there is a good player in there somewhere, particularly at L1 level. His record, with Cowley having experience of getting goals out of him is baffling.
