Exactly, if the ricoh was a mile further it wouldn't be in the borough. Council borders change, just because it is outside the council line doesn't mean it's not Coventry. Common sense needs to be applied.
Ok so those of you who dont mind it being outside the city, can you put a distance on it before it becomes a problem.
5 miles?
10 miles?
35 miles?

Being at Ricoh or 34 miles away,
In a town which already has a pro footy club.... No brainer!
Well Grimsby isn't in Grimsby. Brighton isn't in Brighton. Leamington isn't in Leamington...
We would all be delighted if we played as close to Coventry as Grimsby play near Grimsby. It is less than a 1 minute walk away. The ground is in Cleethorpes and if you don't know where the boundary between the two towns is.......it is a ordinary looking road with houses that runs between the two......you wouldn't have a clue it is just outside the boundary. BTW one of my lads is a Grimsby STH

But you just said the ground isn't in grimsby too?
YEs, I've been to the ground so I know how close it is to Grimsby. But as you said yourself it's in Cleethorpes.
Less than a one minute walk. It is only a 5 minute walk from Grimsby town centre. So what is the problem?
So what are you trying to get at? Good reason for SISU to build more than a minutes walk away from Coventry?
Also, Cleethorpes football team is considered to be Grimsby.
Got to be a good 60-90 minute walk from the City Centre to the Ricoh.
I'm saying if it is close as that it doesn't matter, it is down to common sense.
Here is something that should worry SISU:
http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/spo...s/birmingham-city-paladini-says-would-6205505
£20m offered and, supposedly accepted by the CEO, for Birmingham City, a Championship side, still in receipt of Premiership parachute payments.
So can anyone explain how SISU are going to make a profit, from the sale of CCFC, by building a new ground or buying the Ricoh at a fair price, if £20m is the going rate for a Championship side?
They won't make a profit, but they may make back some of the money they have invested.

But to get to that position, they'd have to support the losses until a new ground is ready and then fund the new ground - on top of their existing investment.

Well I see Sisu have achieved what they wanted all the time Division.
fans fighting each other verbally and physically. inter fighting between different sections no matter which side you blame we are all miles apart therefore cannot come together as one. shame really as all together in whatever direction we took could have made a bigger difference, now we have phoenix teams and nopm and kcik and kcir fuck me I was a member of them all but getting to much now.We did really well today but at the end of the day this will not go away. we are becoming a laughing stock and that hurts more
True, but if you were them, what would you do? It's easy for us to say they should cut their losses and just leave.

And also ease of getting to. The Grimsby ground is on the A180. It is on the main road through. It is more or less just after the docks. One of the rare older grounds that is in a good location. It also has the sea wall behind it. This is why it is the coldest ground I know of. I went in with the Grimsby fans when we played there.
Exactly, some people would refuse to go and moan if it was outside the council boundary and grimsby was an example that was outside the town.
