yep- it’s a subtle yet obvious shift to denigrate what he achieved, and present an alternate history & reality.

Hopefully the new guy renders all this meaningless by taking us up next season, but you just know that if it doesn’t pan out there will be a silence from certain quarters.

Like Everyone else I've listened to the information given to me and tried to get a picture.
Some stuff I'm fairly confident is correct other stuff is best guess.
And I've changed my position a few things as the informations changed.

One thing I think a lot of people are forgetting in his time here, dealing with SISU, the majority of the fan base loved him and hated them, but for all his time here he had to work with them and us to make the best of a very bad situation, its only the last 12-18 months where you could say as a manager he had it relatively easy compared to the previous years. It went from shit to good then appears at some point to have gone to shit again for all involved.

Personally, in the long run I think its for the best, was really surprised and shocked Thursday but I think it has been coming for a while.

Mark Robins is the worst Manager in Coventry City history, (as well as one of the best, IMO
We have only spent 2 seasons in the 4th Division in our history since promotion to the Football League in 1920. 1958-59 we finished 2nd and got promoted, in what was the first season of the newly formed Dvision 4. The end of the previous season had Division 3 North & South merged.
We finished our second time in Division 4 (Rebranded League 2) 2017-18 in 6th, fortunately play-offs had been invented, giving us a back door promotion.

I think Carr will stick around - Andrews is clearly a big fan. The other coaches are presumably not long for this realm.

While the odds of Carr getting the job are probably slim, I don’t think they’re as close to zero as people think.

Would be insane to say you sacked the manager cos the coaches he brought in arent high enough quality tactically then promote one of those coaches.

I think King could just say (as he also did on Monday) that it was the structure that was the main problem, and make sure Carr cleaned house accordingly.

If this drags on long enough for Carr to handily win us four or five more games, then the arguments against him will become easier to ignore.

I think the other advantage King might see is that whoever follows MR is on a hiding to nothing, so maybe giving the job short-term to someone dispensable isn't necessarily the worst thing.

Carr would be far cheaper which would appeal to King. But I think he’d know that getting rid of Robins and not essentially replacing him would be a PR disaster for him.

I tend to agree listening to his more recent communications. Sounds like it will be two people anyway with a head coach and a DoF. Inevitably the coach especially will want his own team of coaches etc which will cost. So yes, a significant investment.

I don’t understand the need in football for all these degenerate ‘was it actually’ theories…. it happened with Brian Clough and Peter Taylor and again with Ranieri and Craig Shakespeare at Leicester. As both situations proved, it was of course a great man with a great team around, him. The sum of all parts creating a formula that achieved success.

The exact same with Robins and his team for us, as sustained success has proven over 7 years.

Its always dangerous to take a caretaker manager's performance at face value. That's how Thorn got the gig, and many years before, Don McKay. I remember Adrian Heath being caretaker and not being too disappointed that he didn't do well, and therefore didn't become a full time option.
