I bet the average gate is already down this season!

This one is quite funny.

The accounts are one thing but our actions are another (training ground/senior off field recruitment).

He's not wrong, just not in the way intended.

If he opened his eyes and looked at how their training ground has gone from state of the art new facility to redeveloping Higgs to a joint scheme with another club to moving into a college sports centre I'd agree their actions do speak volumes.

Saints fan... Hands up, I hate the Ricoh and that is the main reason I don't make the trip for our away games. It's just like going to Stadium MK when we played games there, which I nearly didn't attend a couple of times despite having paid for it on the season ticket.

You are totally right. I just don't see how it can be achieved?

You bought it way under value - I doubt the clots who own CCFC would never pay you the value of the place - not because it wouldn't be better for them to "come home" to a 32k football stadium than their pipe dreams of building a £52m 20k stadium at some point, but because they resent the fact you bought it undervalued... which was basically possible because CCFC thought nobody would?

I don't think the Ricoh will ever truly "work" as a rugby ground, and with it being a continuous enclosure, it cannot be redeveloped meaningfully like Welford Road & Franklin's gardens for example, and is simply too big to generate an atmosphere at regular games.

Just been down the pub here in Kent with a mate who has worked for Ricoh in Croydon office for years. He has said they are leaving their offices at the Arena imminently and Wasps have refused their bid for stadium naming rights. Relationship between the two businesses is not good.

One point off bottom this evening:)

W****s playing french team that’s second from top in their domestic league next week so they will expect a good thumping in France next week.

Looking at the announced attendances they must be counting every ticket given away irrespective of if they are used.
That's clearly the case - and all ST holders, whether they turn up or not. It would be an easy way to do some actual money-laundering (although I'm not suggesting for a minute that is what any Wasps company is doing - they are simply using the exaggerated figures to paint an overly rosy picture of their financial potential to share-holders and investors old and new).
Real bug-bear of mine - attendance figures should be the actual number of people in the stadium, nothing else.

Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but I’ve just noticed that next year’s Champion of Champions snooker will move from the Ricoh Arena to Milton Keynes. That will be another hit to the coffers. Certainly the semi finals and final appeared to have been well attended.

Yep. Strange one, players and fans alike have said how good of a venue it was, these things normally get moved due to players not being happy with the venue. Very strange this has been moved and not good for Wasps!

Yeah, my mate tweeted about it. He spoke to the tournament organisers who were told the Ricoh is already booked for the same time next year. It sounds a bit odd

If that's true that's an astounding level of incompetence from ACL. One of few, might even be the only one, annual events at the Ricoh that draws a crowd and after seven years they boot them out.
