I think there has to be a review of CCC's actions here.

Surely the head lease includes as a minimum a requirement of ACL2006 to seek express permission from CCC to create an encumberance against it which presumably was given. Who made that decision and on what basis?

In what fucking universe would that be justified? If the council bails out Wasps then we’re going back to the dark old days - hard to see us staying in Coventry for very long, at least as long as SISU are here.

coventry rate payers should be up in arms if this is true - this makes Liz Truss look competent !! £90m debt across 300000 or so population is £300 per man woman and child in a cost of living crisis, when most of the city want them gone

It won’t be to cover the entire debt, will be short term. But still completely wrong and should be investigated for corruption if passed.

I have to say... I could see the logic, even if I didn't agree, with them selling to Wasps - divest themselves of something that was causing them more hassle than it was worth, and stop them tying themselves up in legal cases etc.

This however? I'm certainly not one of those stick it all in social services, ignore everything else but... got to be a better use of cash than this, surely?

Especially as we didn't deserve help until we signed a few players, apparently!

I thought that was an old tweet or a fake. Even with this council I find that absolutely unbelievable. Owners of ACL when they applied to put us into administration. Point blank refused requests to assist the football club but happy to bail Wasps out yet again with public money.

Its an absolute disgrace if this goes ahead.

Nothing reaks of dodgy deals and corruption like a behind closed doors meeting with no scrutiny.
Again, I could see why when we sold the ground - a litigious opponent looking for any sign of weakness to launch yet another case.

No justification this time, though. None at all.

Absolute joke.
How many local businesses have genuinely gone under due to COVID etc ? CCC wasn't looking to bail them out - probably had a combined more full-time employees than Wasps.
If they're pouring further cash into a failing business then they are failing everybody but a handful of private investors etc.
Can put the doubts to rest about an anti-CCFC, pro-Wasps council. CCC quite clearly said in a public statement (when we were first in trouble pre-SISU) that the council could not financially assist a privately-owned sports team. Probably because they were trying too usher in SISU in the first place.

I'm not sure I can write anything at the moment that wouldn't be classed as inciting violence. I'll just leave this GIF here.

This is all corruption in broad daylight.
