Forefront of my mind. Also out the fring pan into the fire. Wasps couldn’t win their appeal could they? Surely not

I very much doubt it. Would set a very dangerous precedent.

Also, the PRL want to push for the premiership to be a 10 team league and not play on international weekends so cannot see why they’d want to.

As OSB says the EFL would really have no justification to sanction another move

Even if they did what supporters (other than Frank) would accept it? At that point as well surely Robins would have to walk.

Options running out

Yes agree, I am sure EFL would need a seriously good story to justify another move, so I think Ashley will play it difficult with them. Also think advice will be constantly given to him from an inside source/potential future Chief Exec of Chairman even?

Cant see Ashley buying the lease for anything close to £25m - the valuation is driven down by the £13m dilapidation requirements

There is some talk of a separate refinance to them which again is on his terms as the preferred bidder. Also they have security over assets with wasps holdings so the trustee can claim secured assets there

Ashley can take considerable time to purchase the football club. In the meantime he gets assured revenue through the clubs sub lease. He would I’m sure not be adverse to wasps playing as well. He will look to maximise revenue through the stadium initially. He can wait years to buy the club if he wants and can wait until it’s value is driven down - he never buys things without looking at profit
It’s all looking good for Ashley. I think SISU’s business cycle curve is going to go into free fall. Recession on the way, fewer discretionary sales for a while, f and b downturn. Ashley could hit them in 12 months, but the gamble is whether he’d be bidding for a L1 team.

It says that ACL is already profitable?
Aside from the debt it’s trying to service as part of WHL. As a stand alone business it breaks even/makes a small profit consistently. We’re talking about thousands maybe tens of thousands, not hundreds of thousands or millions.

I never thought I'd say it but I believe the noose is slowly tightening around SISU if they don't purchase the stadium.

Hopefully. It’s evident that playing the waiting game and swooping when Wasps go kaput was always their intention, yet once again, seemingly, it’s backfired catastrophically.

So what now? Will they put their money where their mouth is and plough ahead with the smokescreen that is the Warwick University development? Highly unlikely. They struggle to assist the club, for what I’d presume is a nominal tax bill, don’t invest in the playing squad and continue to charge an inordinate amount of interest year upon year. It’s difficult to ascertain their actual intentions for the football club, they certainly aren’t communicating whatsoever. When was Joy’s last fruitless statement? 18 months ago?

The pressure from fans will intensify as the months and years tick by, more so if we aren’t in this division, the manager isn’t backed and the attendances begin to dwindle. The performance on the pitch in recent years has taken the focus away from their horrendous mismanagement, but it won’t continue indefinitely. After the likes of Sheaf, Hamer, Gyokeres and O’Hare have departed, I predict that we will drop like a stone. There’s no evidence to suggest that MR will be given any money to continue ‘the model’ that served us so well after promotion.

I can’t see em making any statement until it’s done and dusted. If they come out and slag everyone off then Ashley pulls out for whatever reason that will do em no favours. I could be wrong but once the sale is confirmed I think it will come out then.
Missing my point. I’m not expecting them to come out slagging off. I think if something was happening that would jeopardise their position like Ashley trying to distress the club to get it on the cheap then they’d be putting out statements saying how they’d been screwed over.

Radio silence is a good thing, it makes me think that no matter the press releases there is something going on behind the scenes.

If it's down to the RFL, they're really in the shit.
They can appeal relegation if they believe it is a "no fault administration" can't they. ..we know all about their continued losses.... if the RFU are in the shit, could they fall into the Wasps/Covid fantasy way of thinking and reprieve them!!???

I think the silence is due to them quickly erecting another model of what our new stadium is going to look like

the pressure from fans peaked a few years ago. I’m not sure it will intensify, or that SISU would be bothered anyway.

Can’t see the P Share issue being resolved sufficiently quickly to reduce the debt owed to Bondholders.
Ie. Why would the Trustees take their charge over the lease away for less than £35m whilst the P Share is being sorted.
RPL will drag their feet.

So, it’s either £35m and the later £9m goes to HMRC etc or it drags on.

I doubt it’s that deep

There will be some comment after the dust settles.

It would be interesting to know what actually led to the sale of Hyam. It is conceivable the investors needed paying and not cash flow. That’s alarming for January

Seppala and Ashley have similar values. Distress and buy cheap. Can’t see it being a match made in heaven

I genuinely don’t think they’ll be here in January. I could be way off but I think it’s all lined up.

No it isn’t. If the preferred buyer buys at less that’s it. The purchase price will be nowhere near that for the lease

It's a quite remarkable thought process that considers, with the prospect of nothing on the horizon, that the natural conclusion is that people decide they will only settle for everything, and not for something.

well it seems Ashley is paying £44m for the arena and £60m for CCFC…

Fans are completely sick to the back teeth of protesting, whilst we’re playing in Coventry any protests will be minimal in my opinion

Several things don't add up if you believe all the negative stuff.

Who provided the finance to keep the stadium operational so we could continue to play there, (at least until the WC)?
It couldn't have realistically been Sisu / CCFC considering they owe significant money to HMRC, and would it even have been accepted until a preferred bidder was identified and had agreed to it?
It wasn't CCC I don't think - why would they help us out?
So it must have been the preferred bidder or at least they must have agreed to it - am I right? the timing of the announcement / confirmation fits.

MR has suddenly gone from saying there is no money for any new players in the January window, to saying 1, 2, or 3 new signings expected. Strange, even though he talks about only Dom Hyam's pay being made available. Doubt he was earning enough to finance up to 3 new players.

Sisu complete silence

It points to some kind of a deal to me, in spite of what the ITK's say.

I think he’ll have to pay £35m for the arena and eventually pay repairs.
£30m for 51% CCFC and another £30m for the rest upon PL promotion.

At least I stick my neck out, unlike others (you know who you are)

Why will he have to pay £35m?

The worst thing that will happen if the negative reports are correct is massive apathy will kick in and attendances crumble as we drop back down.

At home games perhaps, but genuinely feel people have got the taste for away games nowadays - Even this season we we’re rock bottom the numbers going away from home were still strong

I think we’d still take 1000+ most places in L1

Her leverage to move away ? The EFL are not going to just let her do it again without proper reason. Failing that its wait 8 years for the stadium fantasy to move the club.

Personally i think she will find it hard to play hard ball against someone who swims in the same pool and is arguably a bigger fish. If terms of lease kept to going to be hard to play hardball

She has stopped funding for the team already and I think we all expect star players to be sold so for the supporters what's going to change.

Think Gilbert over egging it. There is a risk but I don't see it as a major one. That tactic has sailed for Seppala.

The move to Birmingham and the little cup trip to Burton were not of seppalas creation apparently. So that leaves Northampton as the only time that was.

Don't know what your thoughts are OSB but surely the only way SISU get more for the club is to have to put money in to make it stronger? If you invested in a couple of players and didn't sell any and the team were in and around the play offs could you perceivably ask for a higher amount?

Some of your are a lot more confident that the EFL will suddenly get a backbone and not let Joy do whatever the fuck she wants. Personally I'd rather not have 8 years of death by a thousand cuts followed by her testing that theory and trying to move us away again.

I acknowledge that MA could take his time buying the club, (perhaps even years) but we might be in L2 by then, is that what MA would want? My feeling is he will know full well how SISU operate and will pay closer to what they want in order to get the club sooner.
Certainly he has them at a disadvantage but not so much that they will come begging to him rather than cycle us through the lower leagues again.

Ashley is worth about £4b
If he wants us, he will get us - think he would get bored making SISU squirm for years to save himself a few million. If he has a project/aspirations to do something with us, I'd have thought he'd want to get on with it, albeit he seems like he'd be a canny poker player (hidden aces up his sleeve etc)

I sort of agree.

I know people will look at Sunderland going for £40m and say we aren't worth as much but buying CCFC and the Ricoh for more than that is an exciting project. The Ricoh is the most unique stadium in the country with the complex attached. CCFC are also a club with huge potential, great location in the country, big city and catchment area.

Wouldn't take much to become a local hero here.

Pretty sure that Sunderland only sold 51% for 40m - that Donald is still hanging on
