You and I agree that the Academy is very important to our future but it seems that most City fans have more important issues to worry about such as the colour of the away kit.
Think that's both untrue and unfair, if our owners are serious about the academy
They should be putting a plan together for us all to get behind.
But as usual they have all but disappeared, they just don't seem at all interested,
I fear the worst, it's going to be another stage in the dismantling of this proud old
Football Club.

Who said I asked for that, use a bit of commen sense Nick.
I believe and it's my view that the Academy is more important that the away kit launch.

Are they serious about saving our Academy?

Just noticed this on the CCC Planning Portal, it's an email from company processing the Higgs development *and to the Planning officer at CCC. Posted for info -

"I refer to my email to you dated 10th June 2016 which sought to answer questions in relation to the use of the netball court and football pitch.

Unfortunately I had interpreted some of the informationn incorrectly such that my email may be slightly inaccurate. I therefore write to clarify mattters relating to the Alan Higgs Centre.

The email stated that the football pitch is currently leased to CCFC – this is innaccurate. CCFC currently have a User
Agreement in relation to the use of the grass pitchess, which expires on 30 June 2017.

In the interim, before the
agreeement expires, CCFC have agreed to move their match pitchh to one of the other pitches on‐site and Wasps are
contributing to the cost of thhe pitch move.

CCFC willl continue using the site until the end of June 2017 when the
agreeement expires.

The email to you inaccurately stated that the relocation of the Academy was subject to the approval of the Wasps
application, which is not the case.

After the expiry of the various agreementts on the 30th June 2017, the Academy need to decide where they will be located.

Once the constructioon of the ‘kicking barn’ is complete, Wasps have
offered the foottball club the use of it for up to 3 hours a day, 5 days a week starting at either 5pm or 6pm, which will
enable them to continue to train indoors should they wish to do so.

Therefore, they can use the kicking barn regardless of whether their outdoor training facility is based at the Alan Higgs Centre or not.

Wasps have offered that to them on a normal commercial basis.

After their agreement in relation to the Grass Pitches expires at the end of June 2017, the CCFC academy may stiill be
able to use other outdoor piitch space either on grasss or on the 3G area, but the availability of such pitch space is
something they would need to discuss and arrange directly with Coventry Sports Foundation.

I trust this emaill clarifies the matter and I would like to apologisee for any misunderstanding caused."

*Post edited for clarification as the header I'd written initially indicated the post was from the developer and CCC, but was in fact from developer to CCC.

Or do we just accept its come from the club it must be true?

Nah of course not but I'm pretty sure wasps halted negotiations and CCFC have stated they wish to keep the academy at the Higgs which were what I pointed out, both sides agree on the above. These are as close to accepted facts as you can get in this debacle.

It doesn't help when you go and meet them and people just get cryptic comments like this from you, last, bhsb etc.
I have personally never met them you will always get cryptic comments from me that's a given. Don't worry you'll soon get it out of me because I've come to the point where I don't care anymore. What is it four weeks till the season starts and I feel nothing.

I know the feeling mate, supporting a football club should never feel like this
should it, we just have to stick with it in the vague hope that something will
change for the better. :)

Have you tried sticking pins in your leg?

The owner of Wasps has already gone on record saying he has been surprised at how little protest and resistance from locals there has been to Wasps trying to take over the city.
That's the saddest part. I was looking something up a while back and ended up reading posts on various rugby forums about Wasps move.
The general consensus when the news first broke was one of disgust at what was being planned but also certainty that it would cause such outrage in the city it was unlikely to go ahead. Or if it did Wasps would be playing to an empty stadium.
People couldn't believe the way they were allowed to stroll in, take the stadium and then have thousands turning up waving their flags.

Pretty sure most people can worry about more than one thing at once but the response to news about the academy has been pretty apathetic to say the least.

There was mumblings of discontent then a bit of PR from Wasps and it was all forgotten with people too busy looking for ways to blame SISU.

Surely not, the council giving out inaccurate information?!? :D

?

The email is to the council about the current setup at Higgs, so not sure how that's inaccurate info being given out by the council.

My bad, the 'and' should read 'to'.

You don't have to look to far confrontation, contradiction, division derision,Tunnel vision can't think of anymore ions bound to be some. Fans have been ground down with every bit of bad news all most of us want to do is watch a game of football every fortnight ffs. Of course they blame SISU we are in the third division we're going nowhere and the only time people hear of our owners is when they announce the next court case or when we're about to lose our academy or where we play. What company any company doesn't have a long term or even a medium term plan for their business? What company leaves everything till the last minute then plays hard done to when things go tits up. What company who depends on one group of people to support their business goes about by encouraging feuding in that group? What company throws about so many mixed messages that no one knows what the latest message is and in fact if there is one?

After years of decline, relegations, Northampton endless days in court, and let's
Be honest when wes the last time we had some genuine "good news".
Understandably Coventry City FC is draped in a cloak of Apathy.

About 6 months ago I attended a forum at the Royal Warwicks where Chris Anderson spent an hour and a half talking a lot but not really telling us anything, isn't it about time he was invited to hold another, all sorts of water gone under the bridge now and plenty of unanswered questions to ask re Acadamy, ground situation, the Wasp situation perhaps our very future,
to name a few, my bet is he will duck out of it.

If he agreed, I suspect he would spend an hour and a half talking a lot while
not really telling us anything .

I think whoever takes on that position, the one Chris Anderson holds, has been handed a poisoned chalice and it is seemingly just damage limitation.
