I have to say I think it#s far from plain.

With tongue firmly in cheek, he joked: “If Manchester United came calling... but they have a manager,” adding, “I have been here for five months, so we’re getting dangerously close to the 11th-month average for Coventry managers.
“But, in all seriousness, I had a meeting with some of the board on Wednesday and spoke to the owner about other things planning for the future, so that should tell you a story."

How wrong do you want to be Grendel/torch/ SBT etc. Could MR state any plainer that the rent dispute and the owners (SISU) are the reason he left?
It is exactly as Don stated - how can you question this? How many people said that one moment everything seemed fine, then he had a meeting with Dear Joy and suddenly he is gone! Well - here is MR himself absolutely confirming what happened and why:
