Maybe we could ask Sisu Capital to be the shirt sponsor?
But it's not Coventry City and it's not Nuneaton, so why would fans of either side want to watch? How many times have we seen on here that people won't watch City if they moved away? You're moving a totally unrelated team into the City. What's the difference between that and what SISU want to do?
What about a bottom of the non-league pyramid club in a 32K all seater stadium? A bit more pricey, I would have thought.
It's fantasy.
Someone who runs a business and hates SISU with as much passion as we do? There must be someone out there.Who's going to lend much sponsorship to what will initially resemble a pub team?
Haskell to buy Nuneaton Borough who are in financial difficulties. Rebrand as club name eg Coventry Borough (like Rushden and Diamonds). Buy 1/2 Ricoh and start much higher up the league.

Can't really see PH4 doing that. Our already meagre crowds would be split. the PC would be playing at - I presume - a fairly low level and crowds would hardly flock to an almost empty Ricoh. His investment would go down the tubes, surely? He needs Coventry City in the Ricoh not some half-baked made up team.
When it was MKDons vs AFC Wimbledon in the cup I have never shouted so loudly at the TV set for a team other than Cov as I did for AFC.AFC Wimbledon aren't a half-baked made up team...

It wouldn't be though. We'd be the re-born Coventry City, as AFC are the re-born Wimbledon and Nuneaton Town are the re-born Nuneaton Boro. Newport, Chester...there's quite a few of them. And most are stunning success stories!

Unless ccfc moves permanently and ceases to be ccfc, then I'm out. Starting a new club just because we hate sisu is just daft.
And I am 100% against buying Nuneaton town and moving them to te Ricoh and rebranding them.

No PC has made it to League 1-is that a risk you want to take with us?
Probably the same businesses that already sponsor clubs at that level. No one is saying it is easy but FCUM and Wimbledon have done exactly this. It can be done. If its not for you, that's fine, no one is going to force you to support them.
Yet. They may do. And yes I would rather follow a Coventry City run properly in league 2 than one backed by SISU above.

How many of them had played at that level recently-or even in their entire histories? Pretty much just Wimbledon, who had been punching over their weight arguably more than any top-two division side has ever done in this country.
Agree that starting a new club just because you hate SISU is daft. But, if SISU continue down the path we all fear ie going out of the City, a slow slide into the lower leagues or liquidation there comes a point where CCFC are no longer the club any of us started supporting (See Oxford for a club royally screwed by their owner). I see an amalgamation of the communities of Coventry and Nuneaton as a way of making a club that would come out of the ashes of this disaster that the two clubs are at the moment.Agree on both counts.
They all benefitted from drawing on virtually all of the pre-existing fanbase, and even then some fans didn't come back. As long as the 'old' CCFC remained then we would be split and suffer pitiful crowds for both teams.
Good idea...but who's going to pay for it?
SISU will not be here forever.

Nuneaton aren't really a disaster right now. Suppose starting a new club forces SISU out of the old one and someone with money and a fecking clue replaces them. Then who do we follow?
My brother says he read Nuneaton were heading for admin or liquidation, as a result of the new ground repayments, although I have not seen this confirmed. I accept that if Sisu left CCFC and we had good owners that would make any new club a non-starter (How I wish for this as an ultimate outcome). I can't see a takeover happening somehow, as SISU seem to think they will get big bucks for CCFC. I need the drugs they are on.Nuneaton aren't really a disaster right now. Agree - in fact Nuneaton borough went bust in 2008, and were reformed into Nuneaton town starting 2-3 league lower than they are now. Their fans could have given up and start to follow the championship club a couple of miles down the road. They didn't they wanted their football club.
And your scenario, is exactly why I couldn't follow a Phoenix club unless ccfc ceased to exit/moved permanently. You start AFC Coventry, plummeting crowd force sisu to sell, a new owner comes in a brings ccfc back to the Ricoh - ccfc with an FA cup win, 35 years in the top flight, tommy Hutchinson, Peter ndlovu, robbie Keane, Dennis wise....
I think it's the owner of Nuneaton town (Ian Neale?) that's going bust, and the potential knock on affect that may have on Nuneaton towns viability.
WHAT!.....considering what has gone on over the last few days......how can you say that the future of our club is safe? The club I think is safe, there's just uncertainty over the ground.
