Doing better than Robins would be finishing 16th
16th would be our lowest finish since the first season up.

i think that’s clearly ridiculous, but that’s your view

Without Wright we’d be bottom of the league
Bizarre. Don't get that
have you read the thread?I find myself asking if this really what the people who were calling for Robins’ head wanted, to be able to aim for 16th place? Is that the giant backward step they were hoping for?
Based on this season? My only point was ever I thought there were managers out there who could get more from this group, many said they didn't think that was the case as we'd been left with a poor group of players. Those are the people that shouldn't expect any upturn.I find myself asking if this really what the people who were calling for Robins’ head wanted, to be able to aim for 16th place? I do however. As I say, top half this season and significantly improved home form is imperative. Whether people like it or not football is a business and the home form we've shown for some time would eventually see dwindling crowds. So I class that as vitally important.
Because we are a third of the season in and are just outside the relegation zone. So things change from the start of the season.Bizarre. Don't get that
Yeh agreed, that would be a disappointing outcome for the season.and I accept that, I agree with you. Aiming for lower mid table is not getting any more out of the players than we have already. Pointless.
What the fuck are you on about now?I find myself asking if this really what the people who were calling for Robins’ head wanted, to be able to aim for 16th place? Is that the giant backward step they were hoping for?
That’s right, and penalties don’t count, and without Vik we wouldn’t have got to the playoffs etc etc- the full shooting match of whataboutery and deflection will no doubt get an airing now.
You’ve demanded the head of a manager who without fail turns around bad starts, you’ve spoken about how King needs a return on his investments, how it’s a results business, but now you’re saying you’re expecting lower mid table, which is where we are anyway, and a lot lower than Robins had us in the last few seasons.
If it is him, do you really think King is going to pay for a ‘name’ like Frank Lampard and say “16th will do, Frank?”
P
When robins left we were goal difference above relegation - not lower mid table
What it says. What will justify the sacking for you?
Talking this season specifically.
Feel like that’s a bit of schematics. Get your point and I wasn’t for us getting rid of Robins when he went as felt we were turning the corner but being 17 on goal difference isn’t mid table when draws below you would drag you into the 22 spot.what position in the table was that?
He needs to maintain his portfolio of success?.If Lampard is announced at the forum I’d love someone to ask him “You’re taking over after the most popular and successful manager in a generation, under an owner who has shown himself to be impulsive and meddling, with fans who don’t want you and expect success as a bare minimum. Why?”
It’s almost better to have a points target in mind. You can’t legislate for what the rest of the league does.
67 points this season given where we are at the moment would suffice.
And whilst Wright may be out, it’s up to any new manager to find a system that gets the best out of others in his absence.
There isn't a Robins out crew, your just sulking same as others and trying to shit stir like you always doBe interesting what the Robins Out crew will come up with.
If they didn't expect anything less than play offs with Robins then they can't seriously expect anything less with their new man.
In fact, we should be surpassing what we expected Robins to achieve this season as the new guy should be "better" than what we had.
I genuinely think people have lost brain cells since the sacking. Basic logic has gone out of the window.Because we are a third of the season in and are just outside the relegation zone. So things change from the start of the season.
It's like saying expectations would change based on a points deduction.
It's not hard.
This is f#king hilarious. Are people seriously trying to brainwash us into thinking this season's play off hopes were over. Preston North End once made up a nine point gap in the last 3 games of the season to pip Cardiff City and yet somehow 8 points in November - might as well give up.31 games to make up the 8 point gap to the play-offs? Surely there's nomanagerhead coach who could do such a thing. Better write the season off and try again next year.
Write this down Pete, we're counting on you.If Lampard is announced at the forum I’d love someone to ask him “You’re taking over after the most popular and successful manager in a generation, under an owner who has shown himself to be impulsive and meddling, with fans who don’t want you and expect success as a bare minimum. Why?”
Going to really miss him, hope its a quick recovery.Without Wright we’d be bottom of the league
Funnily enough, some of the people who were calling for Robins’ head are now saying pretty much that, that it’s all over for the season already. I doubt that King and whoever the new guy is are thinking the same way, at least I very much hope not. This is f#king hilarious. Assuming the new manager is installed for the first game back, he's got 31 league games to play with. Thinking in terms of PPG from then on:
1.00 takes us to 47 pts
1.25 to 55
1.50 to 63
1.75 to 70
2.00 to 78
MR got a point a game before he was sacked, so someone doing 25% 'better' gets us safe but little more, 50% better takes us into mid table and 75% would take us to the edge of the play offs. 2 points a game is what Sunderland at the top are managing.
Realistically how much better will a new manager do with the same players? Impossible call.
