Only just spotted this thread. I'd probably casually follow Ajax as I've had and continue to have family that plays for them and my uncle used to take me to games whenever I went over there. Other than that though I'd start going to the darts for a piss up.

I'll always be Sky Blue through and through but I do have a soft spot for Bournemouth, Norwich and Arsenal if I were to follow/support other clubs...

I'd never waste my money, time or even breath on England......hate the players & many of the small minded fat xenophobic socially inept pricks that follow them abroad (no offence folks )

I was in France 1998 & have never been so ashamed to be English.....so so wanted some of my "fellow fans" to get their heads cracked by the Gendarmes.....utter scum.

As for other teams.....no, football can fuck itself.....it pretty much has now anyway.

If CCFc fold, It'll just be Lazy days & silly songs at the cricket & spending more time on my push bike & lambretta

Coventry City will always be my team while they exist and still go to a couple of games per month. This season though has really been a test and matches at the Ricoh have been particularly poor. Because we started the season at Sixfields my son and I went to the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round at his local team Boldmere and carried on following the winners of each round. It has been more enjoyable than Cov even though we are neutrals. In the 3rd qualifying round came across Blyth Spartans and what a breath of fresh air they have been! Match of the season has been their 4-3 win at Leek in 4th Qual (Leek missed a pen with virtually the last kick of the game) closely followed by their win at Hartlepool. Missed their 1st round match because we decided to go to Cov v Worcester!!
Football is my passion but the lower leagues and non league are more honest. I'm starting to see life outside Cov City but will always support them. Love to see new grounds and will hopefully complete the 92 in the next few seasons. This weekend we are off to Yeovil on Saturday (due to traffic missed the start of the game in 2012!) and going to Villa v Bournemouth on Sun as my lad has not been to Villa Park and we'll hopefully see Callum Wilson score the winner!

My Mum is from Exeter, so probably them, but I also have family who are big Man City fan, however that would feel very glory supportery.

This is me. I was taken to CCFC as a kid in the late 70's; grew a lot so started chasing eggs. When injury cut-short my playing, I went back to The City as I found it too frustrating to watch rugby. That would be early '90s. Stayed ever since; until last season - just fed up of it all. Not just out current trials and tribulations; the 'simulation', the attitude of players; just had enough.

Started to watch the late game footy on Saturday evening when I got in from watching some rugby and realised I wasn't enjoying it and turned on the recorded Saracens game from earlier in the day.

I love watching CCFC like no other. But I've learned I've fallen out of love with football

I'm not fussed about other teams either. I can watch Match of the Day but I am not bothered if I miss it, I wouldn't go to watch another team live I don't think.

My family on my mother's side come from Clayton-le-moors, Oswaldthwistle, Whalley range, Burnley and Blackburn. Sadly I haven't been up to Lancs for a long time to see them all.

Don't worry - you're not on your own! Also struggle to understand how you might love a club but not necessarily the sport! As already said Cov are my team but I love football and would be happy to stop and watch a parks match if I was passing by!!

Could never support any other team, but always look out for all local football results, plus cov rugby, speedway, blaze etc.

Lived in Oxford for many years and used to tie up all visits home to see the family whenever city were playing at home so we could go and watch them. Having said that, whenever we hadn't got anything else on, on a Saturday, we would go and watch Oxford United. That was in the days when big Ron Atkinson was their captain and I think his brother played for them as well. It was only because they were our local team though, City will always be my first love, and then when Oxford ended up in the same division as us, there was obviously no contest when we went to the match! Made it easy to get tickets though, as we could go in either end. PUSB.

I could not support with any passion any other team, born a goal kick away from Highfield road the team is in my blood.

If the cunts who own us liquidate or remove the team to Nuneaton or somewhere equally ungodly then I would end my 40 years of pleasure and pain (40/60 split) and become a passive tourist `fan` visiting 2 or 3 European clubs a year.

Always support England as it's my national side and having been to a few England away days in the 90's, they were top top days.

After that, if it were football then I always look out for Doncaster scores as all my family are from mining villages around it. Couldn't see myself actually supporting another club team though as it just wouldn't feel like that belonging I have to Coventry.

However, I love watching most other sports (as said on a previous thread a while back) and wouldn't have a problem going and watching them.

I live in Germany and get to see CCFC very rarely. I have been to a few Kiel games and Bayer Leverkusen ( I am in Lev once a year ), but although I want these teams to win because I am with my mates who are their fans, it is not the same. I should support HSV as my pub is an official supporters meeting place and we show all games... But it don't work like that. So, no I couldn't "support" any other club, but would still watch a few games in my pub. Football is in danger of a decline IMHO especially as the top of the pyramid is corrupt - FIFA. We shall see how the next 2 world cups pan out and what comes out when Blatter does us a favour and dies. I am not surprised that if CCFC were not here people may change sports.

I have family links to Newcastle, links to Swansea, and like the attitude of Southampton fans and the way their club (until recently) has been very similar to our over the years, but honestly I couldnt support anyone else apart from CCFC, unless they went out of business and a new CCFC or similar was formed.

I have said it in previous posts but I am truly sick of football anyway, over paid players, often no morals, cheating and diving, and a virtual closed shop of who wins the trophys. I mean what has it come to when we might lose our most promising talent as the big clubs have so much money at their disposal that they can poach them to play in a development team....I mean players used to want to play in the first team, not fade out of view in a developmnet team.

I would probably stick to Rugby, Cov Rugby Club and the Northampton Saints, from my home city and my birth town.

I think these days I'm as much of a Cov RFC supporter as a CCFC one. Other than CCFC I'd rather play footy than pay to watch it, such is cheating, diving, spoilt-brat nature of the game at the top level.

If CCFC ever fold, then other than the rugby I'd just go and watch someone local like Massey's, if they're still going.

All the coventry fans should invest all the money into coventry sphinx , if ccfc ever went under without the formation of a phoenix club , but id imagine if ccfc ever went , a new phoenix club would be formed with a name like AFC COVENTRY. And we would go from there

Agree totally with your sentiments on current Coventry City owners.
Quite a lot of people go to continent on a regular basis. I'd recommend German football, great crowd and atmosphere, a lot cheaper and more fun all round. Haven't even mentioned the bier yet!
