Just been looking at some of my old videos on there, some of the Ricoh from 15 years ago. Empty.

This howler from Lee Burge at Kenilworth Road, six years ago today. Remember it being such a warm, sunny day.

No, I only recall the "hits".
My dad insists that we ran out to this song (which was a total dirge) for one season in the late 90s because Robertson was a personal friend of Bryan Richardson. But I can't find any trace of it anywhere!

I did hear at school - I left in 1982 - that BA was a Coventry City fan. Have never, until now, heard anyone else mention it. Or hint at it anyway. Maybe it was true.

lyrically it doesnt work in championship does it.

"every year, the dreaded fear
look at us still we are here
with the rest, with the best,"

...awkward.
Guess you could interrupt it as success after our fear of liquidation haha

I had the CD as well.

I think it had 2 or 3 tracks on it and I used to play it on repeat.

Simpler times!

duh, duh, duh, Sky Blue Army
duh, duh, duh, Sky Blue Army
duh, duh, duh, Sky Blue Army
C.C.F.C!

I don't think we've had a single season back in the Championship without someone predicting relegation midway through!

Your dad is extending slightly.

it was announced that there would be major exciting news for all SkyBlue fans if we got to our seats in HR before kick off on the opening Saturday of our relegation season.

There was much speculation that we would be signing some World Cup superstar or similar. Anyroadup, it turned out that the big announcement was none other than BA Robertson - a personal friend of our manager Wee Gordon - had written a song that encapsulated the joy and commitment of being a football fan (especially of us). We got to hear the “world premiere” “performance” of the song -It’s for Life son. BA Robertson frolicked around while it blared over the tannoy to a decidedly mixed reception.

IIRC we were beaten 3-1 by Middlesbro and the song was never played again.

There was a nice cheesy effort produced for us before Luton at Wembley by Arthur and the Invincibles' A Hymn for Something New' that was pretty decent too. I guess it never caught on because we lost (although I'm sure some will be along to say it was because it was shite, all about opinions). Let's face it, Go For It was hardly a classic, but I still get a bit nostalgic when I hear it.

Sounds right up there with the Sonia 'Get your tits out for the lads' rendition. At least that 's all I could hear, not sure what she was actually trying to sing.

At the Ricoh early years we had some Aussie bloke (was it Mel someone) who introduced some special post match song for after a win that was actually quite catchy. Anyone know what that was?

we also definitely used to play final countdown at highfield in an early premier league season when M&b stand first had plastic seats put in.

They released a couple of songs in the 05/06 season I think it was. One was an awful take on Go for it City. The other was just some shit they made up.

Hey hey hey, we’re the sky blues, come on come on. Wear the shirt, shout the name.

Something like that. I got the CD case signed, but it was probably incinerated years ago at the tip.

I have the Cherry Red CD and there are some shockers on there. Remember my lad was obsessed with it and we had it on repeat in the car.

This, for example.

This "sick" version of the Sky Blue Song is, I believe, what the kids nowadays call "trap".

Ha ha, I can remember “It’s for Life”! now.

That was the game where Allen Boksic ran through us at will, I think? Almost as bad an opening day as the Forest embarrassment a few years before.

Not sure if mentioned already but know there is a song that has the lyrics

Coventry City, Coventry City
We are the Sky Blues
Wherever we play, home or away
We'll support you win or lose
City!
City!
