Wow. We could have a competition on here to see who is the most p.c.
I really didn't mindSome of the Gay people around that heard might have found it a big deal though

Surely it is a case of right and wrong isn't it rather than being PC.Wow. We could have a competition on here to see who is the most p.c.
Yeah. Just awaiting my brigade badge in the post.Until there's reference to a brigade and things going mad, my bingo card's still too empty.
What about fatist remarks !Surely it is a case of right and wrong isn't it rather than being PC.
Isn't homophobic chanting illegal?
Shut it fattyWhat about fatist remarks !
If you said that to my face, my boyfriend would slap you and I'd give you a good fisting!Shut it fatty
No offence. If you said that to my face, my boyfriend would slap you and I'd give you a good fisting!
I'd say derogatory homophobic chanting is a big deal. You'd have probably claimed that throwing bananas at black players was no big deal as well though.
Don't use any derogatory remarks past 'you lemon' and 'you Muppet.'What about fatist remarks !
Although it's all rather pathetic unless he is gay that doesn't really apply does it?
personally i would prefer Tim Fisher is a wanker and SISU out
If you said that to my face, my boyfriend would slap you and I'd give you a good fisting!
Couldn't agree more. Either everyone is fair game to poke fun at - or nobody isWell it's hardly the wit of genius to be fair but the keeper wasnt gay I assume? The gay men I know wouldn't cry themselves to sleep about it but if it offends do something about it, demand a lifetime ban or whatever.
Fat c**t? Any better, bullying people because they are fat? If we are going to have outrage let's be consistent
I agree, I'm really not too sure what I should get offended at any more, or to what level of offence I should get to, I find it all quite confusing.Couldn't agree more. Either everyone is fair game to poke fun at - or nobody is

That attide is part of the problem. We shouldn't accept that sort of behavior, we should challenge it. 40 years ago it was ok to throw bananas at John Barnes, Cyrile Regis and Viv Anderson, that only changed because some people challenged it. Your response reminds me of every time i complain of swearing at football and am told i should accept it as it is 'part of the game'. No, i shouldn't have to and it says so in the FA/FL/ground rules which we agree to observe as conditions on entering any league ground.Like many have said on here it is childish, but if you don't like hearing these kinds of chants football is not the sport for you. Unfortunately it will always be a part of the game.
That song used to come out frequently at HR where the fans were a lot closer together. Time does move on though like.
On another note I also remember an old lady behind me who used to frequently shout c*on and w*g at Uriah Rennie whenever we had him refereeing our games. She then moved on to shout it at Stern John too and that used to make me cringe.
She got away with it for years till eventually someone complained and she got a written warning from the club, warning that someone had put in a formal complaint about her language (no reference to racism) and she should stop.
I think the punishment would be far greater now and I dare say in a few years time homophobia will be punished a lot more harshly like racism now is.
It shouldn't be in the game but it is, and nobody can really do anything to stop it. Us fans can't anyway. That attide is part of the problem. Why didn't you challenge her yourself and/or report her?

It's so engrained in the game what can we really do? If we challenge them what's that really going to do except from start a fight. You have to bear in mind what kind of people you are dealing with here(slightly backwards). So if a minority of fans started racist chanting, the fans couldn't really do anything?
Confusing?I agree, I'm really not too sure what I should get offended at any more, or to what level of offence I should get to, I find it all quite confusing.
What would you have expected them to actually do???I remember singing when the ref gave a really bad decision against us many, many years ago.
(To the tune of My Darling Clementine)
"Who's your father, who's your father, who's your father referee?
You ain't got one, you're a bastard, you're a bastard referee!"
They never took any notice coz they knew it was banter, but these days, you'd probably be kicked out of the ground for referring to the parentage of the officials! :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

We could just pile into them and teach the heterosexual racist bastards a lesson. So if a minority of fans started racist chanting, the fans couldn't really do anything?
Why will it always be part of the game. It was once part of the game to chuck bananas at black players should the same attitude have been taken to that?if you don't like hearing these kinds of chants football is not the sport for you. Unfortunately it will always be a part of the game.
To be fair it was only a tiny minority singing it and was over pretty quickly.
How is that being fair? You're marginalising the situation.
