Actually, I can sort of see where shmmeee is coming from. If the question is "Did the move to the Ricoh damage CCFC?" Yes. It was and is an utter disaster.

There may well be a main tenant but it's their tenant (CCFC) who can bring the main exposure and increase the potential revenue from that. This is what's happened with West Ham. They dont get all the naming rights but they do get some and it's been directly attributed to the increased value that they brought to the table by being a tenant at the stadium. They have a rental agreement not so different from our's (match day use only and no income from other events) plus the right's to the revenue streams on match days and naming rights. All things that could be negotiated under the right circumstances. Circumstances that dont seem to include SISU.

Have you actually read the contract was ham have? It's nothing like ours and the stadium owner isn't a sports franchise so the comparison is irrelevant.
As for naming rights we have no influence on that at all and we are a league one club. The only chance of having a really rights deal is as a premier league club. Given these deals last 10 years what do you think wasps will do - tie up a deal and if we end up in the premier league lob a bit our way?

This is when we should have bid if we were serious.
Unfortunately I think we felt the council had no other options so we only had one to plan to starve out ACL (IMO)

Because it makes me angry we have been locked out our own stadium for 250 years. Regardless if you think it is all SISUs fault that fact should annoy all CCFC fans.

Yes of course renting the stadium will damage the club. We can blame sisu all we want but selling to wasps was the final nail in the sky blue coffin that will almost certainly be irreversible.
1) we now no longer have the option to buy in and acquire to acl/Ricoh. That damages us by
A) we will continue to not have access to the revenues we need (talk of the west ham model is poppycock IMO, its completely different scenario)
B) it will put off any decent owner. Who would want to own a club who has no assets and gets no income from the stadium?
C) the bonds, bond interest, on top of wasps priorities means that it is almost impossible the club will have an opportunity to buy 50% at any stage.
2) competition for customers
3) competition with youth engagement and getting enticing new young fans
4) without revenues it firmly puts up a glass ceiling and almost certainly limits us to a championship-league one yoyo club at best. Pretty much every expert agrees that the revenue model doesn't work above league one. Yes, someone couod chuck in £13m pa in trying to get out the championship, but who's going to do that when they have no assets? Any new owner will want some level of infrastructure in place in order to entice them to invest in the club.

Spot on stupot. Everything that SISU had done, no matter how bad, was reversible to that point. New owners could have come in and there could have been a brighter future. Now we either have the next 250 years making do with what scraps Wasps will throw our way or someone has to stump up millions for a new stadium.
Said it before unless you were a CCFC fan you wouldn't even consider buying the club over any other club in the country.

I haven't read the West Ham contract. I doubt you have either. These things tend to be confidential. Only know what's been disclosed to the media and that is pretty much as I've described it.
The comparison isn't irrelevant. Regardless of it's a sports franchise or not both parties need to maximize revenue. It's the crux of their business so the comparison is totally relevant.
Of course we have an influence on naming rights. We give the Ricoh exposure and that is the point of naming rights. No I don't expect Wasps to "lob a bit our way" if we reach the premier league. Same as l don't expect West Ham to hand any back if they get relegated. Why do you talk such nonsense.
