Football is supposed to be an entertainment business isn't it ? "Fairweather"? Most Cov fans have stood/sat through so much dross over the years I don't blame them for picking games where there may be a chance of success.

How the fuck would anyone expect a bumper crowd against Yeovil anyway . The Crewe game was the clubs only chance in the last few years to actually push on and win something .

But as always we fucked that one up didn't we .

If we had beaten Crewe and then only had 11,000 against Yeovil I think you'd have more of a case. Fans clamouring for Wembley tickets but ignoring the league game. The disppointment after the Crewe game was palatable. Hope was so high for just the smallest whiff of success and that hope was blown clear out of the water in that 90 mins. That defeat was so cruel and after so many years of absolute nothingness, fans were crestfallen.

At the end of the day it is a past time some can't afford every game so chose others have work commitments, other may have to travel all adds up.

Well, that is very true. These big games have attracted a few fairweather/occasional supporters and we have always failed miserably on each occasion.

It's no wonder they never come back until the next big game.

Every club has fairweather supporters. City fans on the whole have been very supportive. Not many clubs who would still get 11,000-12,000 on the back of 30 years of abysmal failure.

In 1968 we were the 14th best supported team in the country although in the second division with 28,000+. The following season we were 10th with 34,000+ . If we get promoted over the next 3/4 seasons up to the Prem we can repeat those attendances or even improve them.

Another point why all the talk about fairweather fans? There are plenty who attend fairly regularly but not every game for various reasons. When there is a big game on most of those occasional supporters go because of obvious reasons. When the average is, say 10,000 they aren't the same 10,000 going every week are they?
