After yesterday's game, is that now pretty much all hope gone?

I think that's just about it for us now.

Clarke was injured and then so too Christie and according to AT, Christie's injury didn't look at all good and he went home on crutches.

Think this has now come down to it not being about the manager, or the players being good enough, or needing help from elsewhere etc. This has now come down to numbers and the amount of fit players we can muster.

Nimely again picked up a knock apparently and we know Platt has an on-going injury problem.

When you look at our injury list it doesn't look at all good does it.

Cameron - out
Wood - out
Hermann - out
Baker - out
Deegan - out
Thomas - apparently out (either that or he has just disappeared off the face of the earth)
Christie - out
Thomas - carrying an injury
Platt - carrying an injury
Nimely - carrying an injury

Plus whoever else picked up an injury amongst the list of AT's 'we've picked up quite a few injuries.'

Hnad on heart I just cannot see us beating Millwall on Tuesday. I think we need a full squad and a fit team. I think this season is now really starting to take it's toll and it wouldn't surprise me at all if we now didn't win another game this season.

As I say , it's now not about the manager and it's now not about the quality, it's about lack of squad depth and I think it is really now going to come back and bite us on the bum.

Going to be like the walking wounded on Tuesday if what AT says is correct.

If Clarke and Christie were to now be out for Tuesday then that leaves Jordan Willis to come in and we would have no defenders at all to put on the bench. We would have to put an academy kid on there.

1 more defensive injury and we would be well and truly fooked.

If we were Portsmouth we could get a bunch of "emergency" loans in from the premiership.

with that injury list we'll struggle to get 11 players on the pitch come tuesday night

I think he's got a splinter.

Or it might have been tummy ache.

I just have a feeling he will be gone at the end of the season and will be fully fit for his new club.

Injuries happen, the bigger question for me is why, when we haven't a pot to piss in are we giving contract extensions to injury prone players?

You say that but McPake is currently captain of Hibs having played every game, hes played more games in a row for them than he has ever for us!!!

I think all teams will have players that have picked up knocks at the weekend, this is just a fact of life and we have to get on with it. I suspect that quite a few players with "knocks" will patch themselves up for Tuesday and rightly so.

I think Millwall now safe may choose to blood some youngsters on Tuesday night hoping due to not having much to play for we can scrape the three points. Then it is donny now they are down most of their loanees will not stick around, again they may play a weaker side with taking a view to the future which may play into our hands.

It is bloody nerver wracking and Tuesdays games are pivotal hoping the boys do not freeze! PUSB

But 'all teams' don't have our size of squad do they!

How do you 'get on with it' if you don't have enough players to field a team?

I'm sure the likes of Ryan Giggs are looking on with envy that James McPake can play 10 games in a row.

So why not place clauses in loan players' contracts to recall them? Poor management from AT?

i agree with what you are saying, but why not for us?? its like we are cursed with players who get injuryed, which leaves us with players who we never really no if they are good enough because there never fit!!!

If they are never fit then why are they being offered extensions? The point i'm trying to get at, is we have no money, so we need to get the most of what little we do have, having players sit on the treatment table is a waste of money and puts more strain on the other players. Players like Hussey, McPake, Bell, Baker, Wood, Deegan, Cameron should all be moved on for the 1 reason alone that they can't play more then 15-20 games a season.

Obviously injuries happen, but those mentioned pick up injuries time and time again which results in them missing half a season and putting no real string off games together.

You have Ken twatty deluded to thank for that!!

I put the blame to this season down to him... he had made his first mistake after 3 mins in the press conference last season and he just got worse and worse!!! The sad thing is his mistakes are still being felt today, as thorn is the manager!!!

We'll still be feeling the pain of his decisions in 3-4 seasons, nobody will be touching the likes of Bell or Baker, so the only option is for them to run down their contracts. Like I said yesterday, this club has no future until some serious investment comes in. In 12 months time we'll be starring League two in the face. I don't see Hoffman as a viable alternative either, another faceless organisation to run our once great club further into the ground.

The problem i have with Hoffman is why has it took him 4 yrs to realise this is what he wants to do??? You can't discount him yet but until he makes a move 1 way or another we are still in the dark. I do think Ray Ranson has alot to answer for as well... My dads good mates with Ben Turner's dad and he said the players didn't have the time for him due to his attitude, why the likes of Best and Tabb left...

But this season has just been a massive mess from start to finish no one helping each other when they did it wrong decisions made, incredible tensions in the stands... the list could go on this season needs to end soon so we can try and rebuild as at the moment we are just drifting with know power!!!

CCFC board/manager meeting;

Board official/Director of Football; "Andy, we need to reduce the playing budget/wages. Any ideas?"
AT; "Er....er.....no, but they are all a good bunch of lads and have been back at it in training."
Board official/Director of football: "Hibs want James McPake on loan...what do you think? Should we let him go? He is on £6k a week, and they may pay 20/30% of this if we are lucky."
AT; "Er....er....he's a good lad, but we have other good lads who are buzzing in training."
Board official; "So, we'll let him go? How will that leave your squad/options in defence?"
AT; "Er....er....we'll keep going, they're a great bunch of lads.".
Board official; "So we'll let him go...no need to put a recall clause in is there...isn't that what some clubs do in case we have an injury crisis?"
AT; "Er...er....I can't fault the lads, they are a great bunch, and we'll carry on...no problem.".

I think you are right lads, AT has no input whatsoever in deciding who goes/stays etc.....

Board official; Hibs have offered us £100 a week if we let them have that Scottish bloke, defender, James something or other
AT; But we've got vital games coming up and we need all the squad members we can get
Board official; Didn't you hear me - £100 per week! Board lunches don't pay for themselves you know
AT; Well I've been talking to some of my contacts and I might be able to get some players in for nothing
Board official; Ahh - didn't I mention that transfer embargo thingy that's just been imposed on us.

Or did this happen....

Training in early February....

AT "Pass the ball in 5 yard triangles lads...in your own half preferrably."

Harrison "Great tactics boss"

AT "The lads are buzzing aren't they, Steve?"

Harrison "Yes boss, ignore the table, we are on the bridle and playing great football....look at our passing stats...Clingan's made more 5 yard passes than Xavi/Iniesta put together....fucking great....makes you want to shit in a cup to celebrate."

AT "Oh shit, one of the defenders has gone down injured....tell McPake to get ready to fill in at centre back on Saturday."

Harrison "Ok boss....McPake!....McPake!....anyone seen Mcpake, lads?"

Deegan "He's playing for fecking Hibs...he posted it on twitter."

Harrison "When did he go there?"

Clarke "Four weeks ago, innit."

Harrison "Boss, McPake's gone to Hibs on loan."

AT "What the fuck are you on about? No-one told me."

Harrison "Don't worry boss, that happens at a lot of clubs...players leave and the manager has no input, or is not consulted. Shall I shit in a cup to raise spirits?"

AT "Good idea, Steve....we could play the shitty cup in defence....it'll be more mobile than Fat Freddy."

They both piss themselves laughing.

AT "Anyway, where is the pikey?"

Harrison "Freddy?....Freddy?....anyone seen Freddy lads?"

You can continue the story yourselves from here, gents.....

After a year in which our Chairman/Director of Football redefined the colour orange, sat in the dugout for a match and generally behaved like he was desperately trying to be cast for a new series of "The Office" - nothing would surprise me!
