Looks like a fair challenge by a player shielding the ball🤣

It'll be interesting to see if they show it on the Ref watch on Sky tomorrow morning at 11am.

This account sums up everything terrible about football Twitter; from what I can see, they've spent the last 28 hours since the game talking about Coventry and seeking out tweets about Coventry so they can set up random Coventry fans for pile-ons, then tomorrow they will undoubtedly start talking about how Coventry fans are "obsessed" and "forcing a rivalry".

It's all just so unpleasant and tiresome. I don't bother with that shithole app anymore and I'm sure many others feel the same.

100%.

He's been tweeting about Coventry for 24 hours. Complete donut.

Of the three top clubs, Burnley are the minnows.
Money is putting them on top.
The world turns. Those three teams will eventually find their level.
Leeds will not be shit forever and Burnley will not out perform their size.
It is inevitable.

Yesterday, the ref was abject.

Here's a thought...

Teams from the Premier league, the Championship, and even lower leagues have extensive scouting networks to recruit the best performers for the positions they require. This includes forriners.

What's wrong with the most financially lucrative country, football wise, doing the same for the officials?

I honestly don't think Bell was bent, just incompetent.

Maybe a bit of overseas competition would raise the standard, just as it did with the players.

The game is all the better for recruitment from abroad after all.

He wasn’t even that bad, everyone just wound themselves up about him.

Multiple times in the first half he made the correct decision and got berated.

He gave a few dodgy ones in the second half but everyone had decided he was shit by then anyway.
In what reality when a team breaks away and the opposition commit a professional foul is it not a yellow card? He gave one after 5 minutes of injury time and ignored all the others.

As with everyone else, I was utterly speechless after the game yesterday at the refs performance. But for me the rules of football are far too complicated for refs to follow these days. If you were to scrap all the rules of football and start again from scratch, it wouldn't be made half as complicated as it is. The laws of the game need a massive overhaul for me.

The Football League Paper gave him 7/10 😂
Did you ever read Shoot as a child?

They used to print all the previous weeks' scores, and gave each player a rating out of 10.

Clearly a kids' comic didn't have a correspondent at every League game in England and Scotland, but it was fun to see how they rated your favourite player anyway.

I'm guessing the Football League Paper works on a similar principle.

I must admit, I had to double check the date to make sure April Fools day had gone

Absolutely fine with this unless they're prone to turning once enconsed.

I just hate how teams like Burnley and sheff utd are essentially rewarded for this behaviour.
they don’t just get away with it, it helps them prosper

whereas with us we seem to get punished by it. Van ewijk got booked for avoiding an assault.
Example: Sheff Wednesday last year - Kitching gets started on - he defends himself and gets sent off.

as for worst ref ever I’m not sure. There was one game where Adebola was playing - literally every time he went up for a header and won it the ref gave a foul - it was silly in the end. You could almost predict when he’d whistle.

Tells you everything you need to know about EFL/Championship refs that when you’re in the playoffs they appoint premier league refs.
Those games matter more than all the others I guess and don’t trust the usual shower with the responsibility.
2023 we had Bobby Madley, David Coote and then Michael Oliver for the final.
