And why wasn't it an option for wasps?
Why is a long term rental deal with Wasps our best option?
You really are fucking stupid, who the fuck will own our new stadium if it's built ever built, guess who , yes at last it will be Sisu.
my god you really are as thick as shit, and our debt will be well over 100 million by then.
What a great future you complete idiot
I doubt it covers all but yea exactly SISU have no intention of selling to anyone it seems so we have 3 options as I see it.Take your point but if you remove the legal action out of the equation, how much are they actually losing? £2.25m (Wilson) + £300k (Juke) + retail (haha), ST, MD tickets, corporate and sponsorship = ????
I bet it's not far off the outgoings this season. If it's break even why sell it?
And why wasn't it an option for wasps?
Ok thats fair enough, that would mean the bitching about our league status would have to stop though. We'd survive but we'd be a lower league club, would our fans accept that? Not just the best option the 'only' if you want CCFC to survive IMO.
To save me doing lots of typing.
Look at the alternatives for CCFC (not SISU) analyse them and compare them to a long term rent deal with as much revenue access as possible. Plus sharing common areas ( physios, marketing, shop, training facilities etc....)

In my mind the best option would be to build a stadium within the city (assuming we remain SISU owned) , if SISU are open to selling then the best thing for us would probably be for Wasps owners to buy us and become part of that. I doubt Wasps owners have any desire to buy the club so then the next thing would be to sell to a person with ambition to build a new stadium within the city.
No. Its not Coventry, its not the Coventry "area", its Nuneaton. A different town. Its not about distance for me. If the new ground ended up being in my home town of Rugby and a five minute walk from where I live and I still wouldn't go.
Call me pedantic (wouldn't be the first time tonight) but when I go to watch Coventry at home I expect it to be in Coventry.
It doesn't feel like our home anymore, it's a wasps nest. Our badges dwarfed by there's. How long before the colour scheme changes and it feels like molineux?
If it was at Bermuda I don't have a problem with the travel however are we not just knocking this issue onto yet other teams (albeit non league teams). This move would then affect Nuneaton and Budduf teams as much as the current situation will affect teams now.
The ideal solution would have been a 50% stake in the Ricoh, we could have really made that arrangement work. With this current situation, we will be the poor lodgers and we will see attendances dwindle.
The best thing the club can do is to invest in January and push for a playoff spot, this will bring people back through the gates on a Saturday and not on sunday. Success will ensure we have our fan base back, you are then in a stronger financial and bargaining position to make a more sensible decision about our future.
That doesn't answer the question though does it?They came in, didn't mess around, put their cards on the table and did the deal.
No deception, no underhand tactics, nothing hidden, no legal action, treated CCC & AHT with respect and above all behaved in the correct manor to close the deal.
If SISU had behaved like that, this thread may not exist (no reason not the think that Wasps may have still approached CCFC regarding 50/50 ownership at this point) and CCC/AHT's ownership of ACL would've ceased in 2008 or perhaps later on.
100% of the ricoh is even better but it's not realistic is it? Maybe you should be asking why the recent offer for 50% wasn't accepted?Good post Stu.
And 50% stake in the Ricoh has surely to be better than burdening ourselves with a multi million pound debt to build a tinpot stadium miles outside the city.

Brilliant. It's ok for London wasps though.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - so please excuse any spelling or grammar errors
Have to move else we will die. Yada Yada all the wasps crap you keep quoting.
Nothing at all to do with my post is oEr... That is Tim's line, coupled with 365 days revenue, bläh, blah, blah. Enjoy your parachuted in Club in Nuneaton.
I can't quite get my head around this.
If Wasps' owners say it's move or die, even if its 85 miles, most seem to be saying that's fair enough. Some are even going to go and support them.
But if CCFC's owners say it's move or die, even if's just a few miles, the same people are outraged and would never follow the team again.
Personally that seems like the most remarkable set of double standards to me.
I can totally understand that, but surely people still wouldn't go out of their way to try and justify another team doing it? Fair enough it's another team it's happening to so people won't care, so why if they don't care about this other team go and watch or spend hours writing posts defending them? That's because we're Coventry City fans and Coventry City is our priority. Not that strange really that we would get more upset about our team moving over a London Rugby team.

Very few people have defended the move.
There is a difference between defending the move, and just saying that they have done it in the right way.
IMO moving a sports club out of its home town is wrong, but, from a CCFC point of view, Wasps have done everything the right way.
There will be a fair few thousand defending the move today when they go and watch, after all anybody who went to sixfields were defending sisu and backing their actions.
Don't you think it is strange the people who do go out of their way to defend wasps on here though?
We just want to go and watch top class rugby and now it's on my doorstep.
Most of people I spoke to at the casino and the match are either going or doing something else. None argued against it.
I think most the arguments are that Wasps obtained our ground after we built it but could not afford to keep it.
It's not there fault.
I feel sorry for Wasps fans that can't be accommodated but I'm not going to fight their battles.
CCFC is my club so I will fight to keep it in Coventry.
Once they've lost a few games I'm sure you'll flounce off, or at least announce that you are going to.We just want to go and watch top class rugby and now it's on my doorstep.

So done out of spite then? It's all well and good saying the best option now is to buy half of it, it isn't going to happen is it?Because there is a total distrust and total dislike of our owners?

It isn't whos fault? Wasps? Proves my point really doesn't it when people say stuff like this.
Amazing how many people suddenly want to watch rugby, could have gone to the butts or Leicester?
I'm looking forward to a premier league team being moved in so we can go and watch them.
Funny how it was people who went to sixfields who were selfish for watching their own team, then you get posts like this.
Imagine somebody from Northampton posting this on here when we moved.......
