About as homely as somebody elses team in ours which you are so keen to defend...Yes enjoy your stadium in someone else's town. That will be really homely.

Because the double standards are shockingAgain... Wasps = Rugby team, CCFC = football team. There is no other professional football team in Coventry... And I am talking about football - CCFC and Nuneaton Town. You are referring to a Rugby team.... As usual. wasps wasps wasps
Because the double standards are shocking
I wonder if Solihull Barons fans felt the same?
Couldn't agree more. You're right some will have said that. If they had accepted the deal though laid on by SISU it's like me accepting a bid from you for my house at a reduced rate and my mates having a go at you for accepting the deal. Who's fault is that?
Yes Hockey is a franchised sport, football isn't. In hockey you can move a club from it's community (isn't liked in all cases and is rare), you only get put in the penalty box for two minutes for hitting someone with your stick across the chest, get put in there for 5 minutes for decking someone and get no penalty for flattening a player against the boards. None of these things are remotely acceptable in football because it's a different sport.
I've gone into the reasons behind our move before. I won't go into it too far and bore everyone this time so I'll be brief. We had no choice. The rink was falling to bits and we weren't able to renovate it or build a new facility in Solihull. The fans accepted the move, most continued to support the club in Coventry and continue do so now (I fall into all 3 of these brackets).
It's similar to Wasps in a way. Fans are behind it and they've bettered themselves.
None of the above applies to our move to Bermuda.
Interesting reading that article. At the time wasn't the rumour that Manhattan met with CCC and decided they couldn't work with them. It's laughable now to think the Shaprio bid was labeled derisory by the council as it would mean CCC writing off £4m and Higgs not getting every penny back, not to mention they dared to ask for a lease extension and some land to develop!
Why should the club have to do the councils job of developing the area?
Think you've missed the point. According to that article CCC dismissed the offer from Shaprio as derisory as they wanted some land by the stadium to develop. They then spent the next few years moaning that SISU wouldn't develop the land around the Ricoh for them.

Who is having a go at wasps owners? I'm just copying and pasting people's comments back to themDo you mean like some never have a go at SISU because we all know that they are in the wrong, but the same people are constantly having a go at the Wasps owners when we all know that they are in the wrong?

Ha Ha bloody hell 4 years ago and just like the thread on here now, just a slightly different arguement. Talk about going round in circles!!!!
Do you want a hand lifting the carpet up?
Carpet? You will need to explain....
For you to try and sweep stuff under.
“Fans are behind it and they’ve bettered themselves”
They were generally. It was a long time ago but from what I recall there were no protests from anyone. The facility wasn't up to standard and the move had to happen as there was nowhere else to go. Within a year or so the team that was assembled was ridiculously good. It knocks spots off any playing in the league right now.
You have walked right into that one again.
The point he was making.
I don't follow. There's a difference between the two. CCFC left a 32k stadium to move to shed and ended up paying more rent than if they'd stayed at that 32k stadium. The Blaze had no rink to play at. Proper fan consultation took place and pretty much everyone was happy with what was put forward. The team (which admittedly had been so good that we got bored of winning) improved massively. Everything got better and the fans were integral to that. It's sad that, that aspect of the club has almost disappeared now. It pretty much went the moment the heartbeat of it left for pastures new.
He was only on about the Wasps bit though. I assume to try and prove a point.
He just quoted a certain bit.Ah ok. He didn't say that. I get where you're coming from now. What point is he proving?
He just quoted a certain bit.
From reading it, I'd guess his point was that there was no opposition to a sports club moving.
See the edit above. I guess I was looking at it from a Wasps point of view. I don't agree with their methods but understand why they did it.
How many on here would follow a permanent move 80 miles? I 100% wouldn't.The funny thing is the ones who moan about a sports club moving away are the ones who follow their own when it moves.
I for one will not follow CCFC out of the city for home games, funnily enough I would not go to Wasps games either even though I do like watching Rugby.

EDIT: If it's the bit about bettering themselves and fans being behind the move that was pretty much the case wasn't it? What was their average gate at Adams Park? 3000-4000? I would hazard a guess that the vast majority of those 3-4k were traveling to the Ricoh in the beginning and probably still are now.
Your logic is all over the place. Perhaps CCFC should have moved out to Villa Park and not Northampton, that's a better stadium so more acceptable.
Nick wash your mouth out, treacle town is not BedworthIt's more Bedworth to be fair.

No, Bermuda is more Bedworth than it is Nuneaton (the cinema and the big bit of land on the a444).
Never heard anyone refer to Bermuda as Bedworth. It's either Bermuda or Nuneaton. Bedworth stops at the speed camera in Collycroft
