£105,000 and a 4th round tie at stake. It’s no friendly at all, ridiculous suggestion.
Agree except it's the third round. This is FA Cup 4th roud, it isn't a friendly at all. By the way I'm not telling you or anyone else that they 'should' attend this or any other game, that's up to the indiviual. I just absolutely dispute that this is a friendly, glorified or otherwise. There is a big prize for the winner

It costs more than that to play the game
So? It really isn’t a friendly. It costs more than that to play the game
Are you suggesting we shouldn't play it?It costs more than that to play the game
That's without factoring in the food and beer sales, 12,000 ticket sales, TV money being on S4C etc
The revenue from the game will through the turnstyles will be what about £50,000? that and the TV fee will barely cover the cost to put the game on
Im not sure it costs the best part of £200,000 to play the game? The revenue from the game will through the turnstyles will be what about £50,000? that and the TV fee will barely cover the cost to put the game on
Same here it was bloody cold that day, but a Greg downs goal too!!Coventry City v Bolton Wanderers
FA Cup 3rd round 1987……3-0
Attendance 12,051
Freezing cold day, sat in the West End. Loved it…..beginning of the most remarkable feat in our history !
My nephew purchased 3 adult tkts online the other day but my boy (u13) wants to go now.
Can't buy a child tkt online without an adult tkt.
What chance do you think of capitalising on the £2 offer on matchday if we present the e-ticket as proof of adult purchase on the gate or tkt office?
Have emailed and rang ticket office but surprise surprise - No reply.

Let's be crystal clear here. If we do lose, it'll be the fault of those who don't attend.

All games behind closed doors until we can make them profitableIm not clear: are you arguing that more people should go to make it financially viable or that we should refuse to play it?
Not really it will be a very challenging game. FA Cup lower league underdogs with point to prove. Big following, on a long unbeaten run, loaads of ex league players with lots of experience.... whoever Robins picks they will have to be at it from the start deffo not easy !sounds a mixture of 1st team and bench players
should easily beat a non league team
We should still beat themNot really it will be a very challenging game. FA Cup lower league underdogs with point to prove. Big following, on a long unbeaten run, loaads of ex league players with lots of experience.... whoever Robins picks they will have to be at it from the start deffo not easy !
With that attitude it was hardly worth winning this tin pot competition in the first placeThe revenue from the game will through the turnstyles will be what about £50,000? that and the TV fee will barely cover the cost to put the game on

The food and drink income will be the big one. Big away followings at the Ricoh drink loads. 4500 away fans with nowhere to go before the match. Most will be in the concourse by 4.
I'd won the spot the difference competition in a previous programme and my prize was 2 tickets to the Bolton game and a signed ball, which I was presented with on the pitch before the game.Coventry City v Bolton Wanderers

Not sure how he's filling those 9 spaces on the bench.
Yes, Man U devalued it when they decided to pull out to take part in a competition on the other side of the world. Also it was the only live domestic game on TV. However ,we're a win away from a possible top prem side at home which we would most certainly sell outThen it was entirely different - the competition offered a European competition (well not for us as it happened) was a major event on the sports calendar
It’s been hugely diminished over the years
I think he'll play Palmer instead of Allen to get him more match fitness. That's why I'm thinking it won't be much change to the usually match day squad. We simply havent got the players. So I think we'll see the majority of the normal squad but the bench warmers will get the starts, with the main men on the bench.
The bench for Bristol was:
Dabo
Sheaf
Tavares
Moore
Burroughs
Kelly
Howley
I reckon they'll all start barring Sheaf maybe. It'll be something like this (with maybe Howley or Sheaf) in the back 3:

WIth the big guns on the bench if required.
I think he'll play Palmer instead of Allen to get him more match fitness.
I'd also swap Howley for Sheaf. They have a fairly decent midfield, Anthony Forde played for Rotherham in the Championship and Elliott Lee was at Luton.
Actually for me it’s a game I can’t be arsed to go to - simple as that
It costs more than that to play the game
