Well I for one have not quite understood all the positivity that's been around.

I said a few weeks back that we could well be looking at another relegation battle and that midtable would be good for us this season.

Most on here though think only of top 6 and even top 2.

I reckon that will only happen if we strengthen the squad. Well, we've brought players in, but that doesn't necessarily mean we have strengthened the squad does it.

Pretty much spot on, but still, best hope it all magically clicks into place at Yeovil.

lol Thorn ... manager lol, its only a friendly, playing nearly our first team, its only a friendly lol,
what on earth does it take to realise Thorn is a scout not a manager, oh and he signed these new players but
hey ho I suppose Sisu made him lol.
Cmom you Thorn apologists, its not his fault is it ?
No its Sisu ,Ranson, everyone else but not Thorn lol

Tis just a friendly, very true, but 4 defeats on the bounce is not good for morale at any level.

Think it's the lack of goals that is more worrying for me than anything else.

Some of the furious masterbating about the new signings, based on.....well based on no evidence at all was over the top. Time will tell as always though.

Bizarre substitution taking place. Cody on for Ball so still one up front but it's a little man for a bigger man! I'd have thought putting two up front when your 2-0 down would make more sense

apparently sheffers is moving up front?

Grendel would no doubt posit himself as 'anti-Thorn' and has said the very minimum he expects this season is a top 6 finish. There is a bit of optimism on here, but I know fuck all about the division we are in and only about how disappointing much of my life as a Cov fan has been. I have no idea, but I wanted tonight's line up to be competitive. They have not sounded that and it doesn't fill me with optimism.

I hope people will now realise that swapping championship proven players for for freebies and loans does not make our team squad stronger than last year !!!!!!!!!!

Chief Commentator!
More great updates. Thanks sw88. I'm interested in the above, any more thoughts on Morrell's managerial ability - how he's set his team up to play etc?

They do look a decent set up and he got us worked out very quickly. Early on a Wrexham fan challenged why they were playing it long all the time. I think the 2-0 score line shows there was a reason he went for this set up and it's working.

The steward also rates his partnership with his number 2

To be honest I'm not really bothered too much about the result, per season is preseason and often you prepare mentally differently during the season as there is so much more to play for. I wouldn't worry too much about the results, just remember though the team is still gelling and we are still trying to find the best combination of players, we have practically bought a whole new team so will take time to bed in.

Listen...you can almost hear the Thorn apologists logging out..

I don't understand why he doesn't leave anyone up when we defend corners. I think it is an error to have that as a uniform ploy. I think playing Cody up front on his own is an error. However, I also think he gets some undue stick on here. Sorry to fuck with your mind tank.

Pre season games don't mean much but when you have pretty much your first XI playing this close to the start of the season this is a bit worrying.

I have said myself that if we are not in the top 6 by Xmas then AT needs to go. To me we do have the players to be in the top 6. We do have the players good enough at this level. We now need to play our 1st team in the remaining friendlies. They need to get to know each other and the way they play.

The time for excuses has to stop. It needs to stop now.

If this is what he learnt stuck in the class room I think I could get my badges :)
