Pretty clear he was under a lot of stress with this money situation & all, exactly how that came about is another matter.

Stress can explain all manner of bizarre behaviours, I'm sure we've all seen it or even experienced it to some degree.
Of course we have, we're City supporters.

The whole thing is very odd. The CT report says he had spina bifida, high blood pressure and bad knees, was also on anti depressants and all sorts of painkillers (painkillers codine, morphine, tramadol and tamazipam).

Despite all that it says he wouldn't speak to anyone about his health deteriorating over 12 months.

I have high blood pressure and have to go to be checked by the doctor every 8 weeks or they won't give me any more medication.

He was telling people he couldn't breath as was ill enough to get sent home from work but nobody thought it might be an idea to make sure he saw a doctor?

That's the thing, where would you get all of those drugs from if you hadn't been to the doctor. They don't just throw them about do they?

If he was off work and in a bad way, surely he would need a Doctor's note?

So did he actually get a mortgage on somebody elses house without them knowing? Has this been paid off or sorted so the woman's house doesn't have it hanging over it?

Ask his daughter Kirstie Townshend via @klogantownshend I'm sure she'd be happy to clarify rather than your question left hanging.

Was hoping you could nip it in the bud, was just a general question as it has been written to very much look that way without "allegedly" etc.

As I've said you could ask someone with full knowledge of what's going on.

I could always ask for you if you're not prepare to ask the question directly to her.

However, seeing as I've offered details of how to contact her I can't see why you couldn't ask yourself.

Thanks for trying to Mythbust again. Feel free to ask what you want to who you want.

Don't try and pull the same shit you did the other day to Stupot ;)

I asked a question about the article, I thought you of all people would have known a bit more about it.

Trying to mythbust? What are you babbling on about?

You've asked a question and I've offered a point of contact to someone who will be able to answer.

The fact you're not actually prepare to ask the question to that person directly speaks volumes.

I was actually asking because the article seems to try and make it clear that it happened. In the past when anything was mentioned it was always that Les Reid had something personal etc etc.

I thought somebody on here may have known a bit more and would be able to correct it as I thought it sounded a bit too sure that it did happen.

Never mind.

Or you could just ask the question directly to someone who could offer an answer - but won't.

I'd suggest that Reid's decision to misrepresent was was said in court, stating that Lucas had tampered with evidence prior to police arrival, would be why people question his impartiality on this matter.

He had to amend the CO article and also delete a Tweet in which he stated this -

Therefore I wouldn't read to much into anything else he's said on the matter.

However, you could just ask Kirstie.

Yep, that is why I asked because it wasn't Les Reid that wrote the article.

I asked on here, surely if I wanted to ask I would have just tried to ask her?

You know how forums work right? I asked as it was part of the discussion. If you are just going to reply to everybody saying "email x or y" every 5 minutes to people it is going to get very boring, very quickly.

I just hope you aren't on the match threads telling people to ask RCC why he dropped the ball or Haynes why his hair is so gelled.

Right, so best to leave a question hanging rather than asking someone who knows.

Or just go over the same ground running threads into hundreds of comments, but not actually moving forward and the original post being lost within the first handful of replies.

Yep, because that doesn't get at all very boring, very quickly.

His daughter was interviewed on CWR this morning.

Maybe you should speak to the BBC who have put it out there this morning then, ask them why they haven't just asked his daughter?

They've joined SBT have they? What's their username?

Maybe you should send them an email to ask them?

So you're suggesting I contact them directly, whilst raising issue with me suggesting others make contact with people directly.

Honestly, this is like shooting fish in a barrel.

My ma-in-law used to be a home help, and occasionally, she would turn up at an old persons house to clean etc, let herself in with the key under the mat, and find the old un had pegged it during the night.

She would call the law, then clean the place like crazy. She wouldn't have wanted anyone to come into the home and find it in a mess. :)

No. Yes. It was quite obvious what I meant.

I assume you were personally acquainted with Mr Townshend. No. Yes.
So did he actually get a mortgage on somebody elses house without them knowing? Has this been paid off or sorted so the woman's house doesn't have it hanging over it?

The suggestion is that she was evicted out of the house and the house sold under her.

That was what the news was suggesting and they interviewed someone who said it was disgraceful that the police seemed to not follow through the investigation,

I wouldn't suggest e mailing his daughter as the clearly impartial "Armybike" would as she says he's dead so can't be accused of any crime and we should remember the great things he did.

Yes. She was on the BBC this morning. She hasn't denied that he got a mortgage on somebody else's house but just called it a 'family dispute'.

Which in itself is very strange as I would assume this related to a Power of Attorney he took out in his capacity as a solicitor.

What's most odd about it is the lengths to the CT are going to in an attempt to try and clear his name. Most people probably had little idea who he was nor what he'd done wrong.
Funny how his conviction for failing to pay the national minimum wage (can't remember if it was a young apprentice) to an employee got no coverage.

It's not if they were great friends.

Has he been fully cleared like they keep making out?

Not much can be done now can it?

He can't be cleared or charged.

The BBC are all over it. It doesn't look good really does it? No interview by the police, search warrants applied for but not acted on? Dear dear.
