With a game in hand over Swindon and 5 behind do we have a lifeline? Still play Swindon at home and we play those around us in the next 6 games.
So beat 4 of those teams and draw 2 and we will likely be out the bottom 4. That is our lifeline.
First we have to win at Oldham.
Otis will remember my last prediction when I said "the next 6 games!" But we truly are at break point, no second chance, the next 6 will seal our fate and maybe it will be all over within 3 games if we continue on current form.
I think Tuesday is vital for the confidence going into those games. A Wembley final may be the lift for the players to raise their game.

Tuesday is vital without doubt.

Can you just imagine how low we are going to feel if we lose. I think the whole club and city will have completely given up hope and we will sink without trace.

It is a massive, massive game.

Does it count as mid February yet? Am I allowed to go back to thinking we are definitely down?

At least Swindon are losing now, still only 8 points off.

I think Otis if we lose on Tuesday our confidence will be shot. if we win the lift it will give will be more than if Wycombe win. Why? Because Coventry will be a story worthwhile running in the main stream media...City back in a cup final again after a 30 year gap etc etc. That will lift players, the club and fans just b4 we face those 6 games where we need wins to stay up. Lose and it's not something anyone wants to contemplate how we will go into those 6 games. You are right this game is bigger than the Checkertrade trophy - it's our life line and if we don't take it we are likely going to drown.

I agree.

It may be a tinpot cup to some, but in the grand scheme of things for us as a club it is absolutely massive.

Like you say, lose and the whole season will collapse like a pack of cards.

Survival is now a long shot, but a Wembley trip and a cup final could be such a confidence booster and give us just a bit of belief.

A massive, massive game for us and one we simply have to win to give our survival hopes any chance whatsoever.

Lose on Tuesday and the next home game attendance is going to be pitiful and heads will have completely dropped, fans and players alike.

In those circumstances I'd be happy for the gate to be 15-18K.
It's never happened for us when fullish.

Are you smoking crack cocaine ?
The last time i checked to win a football match you need to score a goal.
We haven't even scored one goal in our last four league matches !

What are the odds on that? I guess they get shorter each time...so seems like we are all set to score very soon then - wouldn't you just know it!

Looking more like under 10k. Just above average. No windfall for Shitsu. Even with Wembley on the horizon it's not enough to pull people back in. Fans have gone and many won't ever return.

After the Sturm Graz friendly last Summer I said we would struggle as we lacked any kind of goal threat.

In Sept it was clear to me that the team would struggle to avoid relegation. I said so at that time.

The usual suspects said all season that the squad was no worse than last season. Go figure.

Rubbish. It'll be 15k easy.

We will also sell our allocation for Wembley should get get there; be it 20k, 30k or 40k.

I'm guessing 12k... with 700 odd Wycombe fans max. They only had a allocation of 400 but that's counted be generally down to the time to sell and distribute.
I think it's a shame that we cannot sell out the Ricoh for this game yet possibly take 30k, 35k to Wembley.
Still as pointed out earlier we rarely excel in front a big crowd or following in the road. Last time was MK Dons with the 7k.

Despite Wycombe being a division below I just can't see us winning. Best chance is the game going to penalties. We don't have the firepower to win in regular time.

Depends if Folivi is fit.

As an unknown factor he might just make the difference.

Maybe Tim Fisher will now see the actual damage to the fan base? 30k against Crewe 10k against Wycombe

TF really don't give a shit.... there not sentiment there, he will run the business at the cost of the model in respect of numbers turning up.
Just a shame that we cannot get enough up there to give there vocal support to show the club still has a fan base waiting to return for one game where the gate receipt is shared so sisu don't get all there hard earned £10
£4.50 is all they will get from your ticket!

Even to support your colours with a chance of a famous day at Wembley regardless of size of the competition for a success starved club?
To show the watching tv audience around the world we still have a fan base ready to back any sensible new owner?
To come for one game to stick your fingers up at the owners to say you'll never see this crowd again as we revert back to 7k against Gillingham who ironically we played on our return from Northampton.
A huge message could be sent for £4.50.

The football ain't worth £4.50
But I take on board your point, full house still wouldn't change anything
These lot are here for the long run
JR2 could go on for years, no academy no Ryton no ground next year??

I wish you'd stop peddling this theory. We've done well in the Checkatrade all season but it hasn't helped the league form one iota. I very much doubt whether the players or indeed most fans will bat an eyelid of we lose; I certainly won't care. The whole competition is a sideshow, Wembley or no Wembley.

We have indeed done well in the Checkatrade, but that is irrelevant when you are talking about a semi-final and a trip to Wembley and the chance of winning silverware.

You are surely not saying a win in an earlier round in front of 2,000 fans is going to have the same boost to a club as a trip to a Wembley cup final?

Incomparable.

I do have to say I think you are very wrong. Tomorrow is a powder keg waiting to explode.

We win it will all be smiles and good vibrations. We lose and it is all going to kick off big style.

Fans are already angry, already protesting, already invading the pitch and throwing things. Do you not think we if go a couple of goals down and look like we are heading for certain defeat that the protests will get out of hand?

Unfortunately, as you don't rate the trophy I think you are looking through rather one sided, blinkered glasses. This trophy night not mean anything to you, but clearly from the posts on here, it does to a great many of us.

A win tomorrow will be all over the local news and City fans will be talking about it at work and school and down the pub.

There will be a buzz about tickets to the final and a feelgood factor. Surely that is beyond any doubt?

Obviously not saying it will be anything like the scale of 87, but a win is a win and a trip to Wembley is a chance for a great day out for us all.

It's not just me, there have been a number of posters saying if we lose it is all going to go horribly wrong. :(

We are 8 points behind Swindon not 5
