Has anyone heard anymore about yakubu yet?
No - but at least, now that we're in the final. we should be able to afford wages etc. I think TF referred to one or 2 coming in over the next few days - I'm wondering if the other is that Gogich chap, or maybe the ex blues winger (that's winger, not singer, before you come out with a few suggestions, Otis) who's on trial? Maybe we get the 2 latter, but no Yak (but I'd like to see us get a 'beast' of our own up front).

Nasseri is the winger.

We have the three players, Nasseri, Gogic and Yakubu on trial.

Apparently set to sign.
Sensible decision - even if he cannot play in the near future, his experience will hopefully give some confidence to the rest of the squad.

There is probably some value in just having him standing on the pitch TBF.

Opposition players: "Is that Yakubu???" " Don't be daft why would Yakubu be playing for Cov????" "It really looks like Yakubu........."

................ during which time Beavon scores :)
Its completely fool proof! Playoffs here we come

So Slade believes he isn't fit enough but still worth a contract.
He must have shown something in training

"Set" to sign isn't it?
After Andy changed it to that:

How short is short as they see a long term deal until the end of a season

A big striker is an option sorely needed. 15min cameo to start then build up to first 60mins of a game, doubt he will get fit enough to manage much longer at his age, whatever that is.

Everything to gain and nothing to lose. We need options and cannot keep going with no striking option on the bench.
Look at the effect akinfenwa had for Wycombe, he had players all around him and used his strength and body well to link up others. Didn't really put himself about but had the desired effect.
Let's hope Yakubu can offer something similar to give Beavon/Thomas or anyone else in the team opportunities to score.
Let's support him and see where it goes.

He will do job for sure. If he is fully fit and give him the service he will score. This could be a massive signing because his goals may keep the club up :happy::happy:

No chance of staying up!!
A chance, but it's slim.

I have my fingers heavily crossed that all the teams above all go on atrocious runs.

That's what's needed to happen. I can't see us winning 5 or 6 in a row, so we need to maybe win 2 or 3, draw others and hope all the other teams above keep on losing.
