I read it that we had agreed the higher fee but then they couldn't get a replacement so insisted on the loan back.
Yes that's how I read it too.

Posh chairman also confirmed we have first choice on another player in summer as part of deal.
Now that's interesting. I'm thinking it's Burrows, rebuild that left side, like he rebuilt Barnsley defence in the middle.

I'm a particular fan of MacAnthony talking himself up as a man of honour keeping his promise to the manager... Having seemingly been all set to break his promise hours earlier, just couldn't get a replacement in!
My grandad used to say never trust an Irishman who ends his sentence with ‘and that’s a fact’. Can imagine MacAnthony doing that with Ferguson

I talked up Ronnie Edwards in the summer. He would be an amazing signing. I’m shocked he’s still there to be honest

The suggestion that we were prepared to spend £5 million on the guy this window makes the story about the Argentinian winger more plausible.

Turner confirmed we did make a move for the Argentine

He’s still a knob, bet Doug’s not happy having his business in the public eye
