I think we need to drop the whistle thing guys.

I don't think it affected the game. I sit on halfway and didn't hear it.

There is no way to legislate for people bringing whistles. You can't do full body searches outside the ground. Far too many people had whistles to target them individually.

I also sit on halfway and I heard it on a number of occasions. Me and the 3 others I was sat with all noticed Reilly and Sterry stop when the whistle went. The lad blowing the whistle has obviously never played a game of football as he would know when a team is against the cosh like that all concentration is needed on the game not some idiot with a whistle that sounds like the refs. Either way I think there are plenty of positives to take away from today. Tudgay played well and I am normally his biggest critic. Beavon was phenomenal, the sort of player we have been crying out for. Clarke looked solid and bossed the back line pointing and communicating well to the others. The best thing for me though was Slade coming over to the fans at the end of the game, I've never seen TM or MV do that and I for one found it a nice touch.

Chief Commentator!
Beavon and Clarke very impressive. Made a huge difference. The former took his goal superbly, finding space and finding the bottom corner. Also good cross to find Reid in the lead up to Tudgays goal.

Also nice to see us not trying to pass it out from our area. Just wish Burge could work on his distribution! Holds it far too long even at 0-0 so can't always be trying to time waste, but then again when he does do it quick or even after a small delay in play, how many of them actually stay in play?

Thomas ran his socks off again and deserved a goal. Just a shame the one he got was flagged offside

Burge annoyed me. Reid was sprinting down the wing and Burge had the ball in his hands and wouldn't kick it down field.

That wouldn't be so bad, but he then proceeded to kick the ball straight out of play.

I heard them followed by their goal

Not for a moment defending the use of whistles in the manner used. But I actually made an effort to go the match and I can tell you that you and the other one or two peeps moaning about this on the radio are absolutely, 100% wrong. Lamerias was caught out by a miss-hit by Bolton's 22 (Ameobi), and which was meant to go to the midfield flank but instead went square outside the box, completely bypassing Lamerias and catching him out. Thereafter, 3 City players were wedded to the spot when the ball landed to the Bolton scorer.

I get that some people aren't happy with the protest against Sheffield and that carrying the whistles over in the manner in which they were used today is pointless and a bit stupid. But the protesters are not to blame for the goal. No need to do Fisher's work here. please.

First time in three years you gave him credit for anything.
Well done to you.
You have to have a good feeling about Bevan and it's good to see Haynes hasn't let it affect him.
He did the same last time he played a stupid back pass. Then he won the game for us

I hate to disappoint you but as a defender he is terrible. He has no discipline. He constantly is out of position and a liability.
If stokes isn't fit and page goes then we need a left back pronto.
Slade must have had a death wish ending the game with Bigi and Haynes on the left. That was just stupid.

Just that it was at the exact time that 2 players stopped in their tracks completely

sterry and reilly could have cleared it, but stopped for a second.

Nobody is doing fishers work apart from people doing silly things like blowing whistles making it easy pickings for him.

The whistles did have an effect and they weren't being blown as a form of protest.

You are wrong on both counts here

Without wanting to get the fork and torch brigade after me. Had their player heard the whistle and then ballooned the cross out for a throw, wouldn't everyone be saying 'legend' etc to the guy that blew the whistle?

Yeah, seemingly the timing was wrong on this occasion, but we have conceded twice in stoppage time in 2 days, and that's probably the real issue that needs addressing.

No one with a brain would be calling him a legend as they would realise that whistle could have just as easily resulted in a mistake from one of our own players.

The people criticising the whistle antics were also there.

I'm sorry, did you see any of those players look up for a whistle? I saw 3 players all looking down at a ball, each hesitating for fear of either giving a pen away or being turned. And not for a second did Clayton hold back either. Sorry, whistles had nothing to do with the goal, and not one person around me in the stand mentioned otherwise. Again, I'm not defending the use of the whistles in the manner used.

We're not talking about the three players in the box who were trying to block the shot.

When the miscued cross was played in from the right, our player was running towards the ball to intercept it and stopped when he heard a whistle from the crowd.

It was the interception at the cross. I was there it cost us and it was fucking moronic.

Well everyone round me thought it was the whistle ... It is so pathetic ..most of the time,They made no difference but literally just beFore the goal it actually sounded like the ref had blown ...2 games running going home deflated after what should have been wins ..the fact those 2 teams are at the top of this division shows how poor a division it is

Don't be an idiot - blowing whistles while the team is defending is fucking idiotic as is singing sisu out the minute we score.

No, that's revisionist. Lamerias had expected the ball to go back up field, got caught out by the miss-hit square ball, and found himself 5 yards away from the player, who then played it into the box. Lamerias knew it was a lost cause.

It was Reilly who initially went for it, heard the whistle and stopped. Lamieres had started to make thr forward run as he thought Reilly was interceptong the ball. Their player then gets it, and the rest as they say is history.

Ah, sorry, my bad. Also, I see from the CT report that it was Clough’s "total miscue" that was the "perfect pass" for Taylor. Very cruel on the city.

Why would they?

They don't want to be seen to be making excuses and alienating the fans.
Because it if is actually affecting results potentially their jobs...that is why. That is being honest and doesn't alienate the fans at all.

So you think it would go down well and encourage support from the crowd in the future if they came out and said it was the fans fault. Interviews are rarely honest, they say what they think people want to hear and not actually what they think.

You really haven't a clue about the game.
