Jones needs to try and round the keeper at pace like Murphy defaulted to last year. He seems to get 1v1 and just hit it and hope 3-4 yrds in front of the keeper. Like you say he is very young, it will come...

All of the attacking players need to hit the shit quicker
That's how Turnball got his first Sordel hitting the shot quickly

Exactly, far too slow. Like rugby looking sideways to try and lay it off

You hit the shots and I don't mean pot shots from 30 yards
But hit them quickly in the right areas defences and goal keepers are not set
That's when the richochets create something or the goalie messes up

It was reference to last game....

He just needs to work on shooting, it will come though!

Indeed. I think he has massive potential. I just hope people don't jump on him when he has a dip in form - which will happen at some point. We see it often at this club with flair players - look at Murphy and Kent last season and the stick they got from some - usually a lame accusation of 'no end product', but then both are scoring goals in the league above.

Do they not have to keep the same teams also from the last u23 games?

What is to stop them packing it out with 5 first teamers?

Seems very vague, seems they could do what they will with the other 5 players. As long as the quoted 6 are under 21.
I think the EFL clubs still have to stick to the percentage of players starting the previous league game as last few years also

The U21 players could be first teamers too then.

So it reads only states the 6 being u23's.
This is from the EFL site on rules
For the EFL Clubs, a registered player is one who would be registered and eligible to participate in a match in the League Competition for that EFL Club commencing at the same time and on the same date as the Match in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations.

Each EFL Club shall play its full available strength in and during all Matches. The League will from time to time issue a policy as to what constitutes 'full available strength'. Any Club failing to meet this requirement will be required to pay a fine of up to £5,000.

For the Invited Clubs, a registered player is one who would be registered and eligible to participate in a Premier League and/or Premier League 2 match commencing at the same time and on the same date as the Match in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Premier League rules.

Each Invited Club must ensure that in each Match at least 6 of the starting eleven players named on the Team Sheet are players who were aged under 21 as at the 30th June in the year in which the Season concerned commenced.

The restrictions set out in Regulation 52.4 shall apply (number of loan Players on a Team Sheet) to all Clubs as if set out herein.

Players registered on a temporary basis will be eligible to play unless the loaning Club (or club) expressly indicates it does not consent as part of the applicable loan agreement.

No Player may play for more than one Club in the Competition in any one Season.

So they can just fill it with first teamers...

Seems a bit unfair.

Yes, so any academy team who advance out the group stages and interest builds will start to field stronger teams possibly.
Crazy, this was one of the reasons I stayed away tonight. Put the cash towards fleetwood tickets instead.

So what was the final score? Reading through the posts it looks like 4-1 to City?

it was 4-2 city..

This app is great for scores... even gives notifications when goals are scored etc..
You can set your favourite team and also see favourite leagues (by pressing and holding the league name) to have a favourites list, to cut out all the leagues you don't want to see..
It's pretty good! :)
